mmartens -> intel reports not tallying japan ship loss (12/19/2005 9:38:44 PM)

I just purchased WPO (it's been awhile since I've played these types of games), and have been trying to get the hang of things via the Jutland scenario. One thing I'm noticing is that sometimes when I sink a Japanese ship, the loss isn't showing up on the intelligence reports, and I'm not receivng the resulting points. This seems to be occurring primarily with battleships and battlecruisers. In one game I sank four battlecruisers in turn 2 or 3, and I just sank a battleship in another game, but both times the losses weren't recognized on the intelligence reports. I went back and double checked the after action combat reports, and both times they confirmed the ship losses. Am I missing something here?

Its a FOW (Fog of War) thing. Even though you see the ship go down, it can take up to 60 days before the ship is actually confirmed sunk. All ships actually lost will be tallied at the end of the scenario, regardless of whether they have been reported sunk or not.
