ravinhood -> RE: Why is the Generals edition so expensive? (1/25/2006 9:23:50 AM)

As much as I'm a stickler for cheap, I even have to put my stamp of approval on the Generals Edition and I won't complain about the price. This is really cheaper than I'm willing to pay for a subscription to S&T with a computer game every other month. There's loads of gaming pleasure in this package deal. Years of play value and I really enjoy the SPWAW series anyways. You really do get your moneys worth out of this package unlike WITP which is only one game for $80 (with a cd yes it's $80) that one is a no no for me. I like variety in my games and I like random and the General edition gives that in spades. And the HISTORY alone in it is worth the cost, one good WWII book would probably cost you that much with the information you get about the equipment. Now if they would just hurry up with Combat Leader, oh I know it's just a reskin of SP's I can't hardly see how much more they could improve on SPWAW, but, in the age of GRAPHICS and OS's guess it's time for an update. I only hope and pray the AI is improved for those of us who enjoy just playing against a competent machine opponent. But, I don't mind playing PBEM games like these. I enjoy tactical wargames more than any other. I don't care about playing with my resources or having to build some building to get some upgrade (total war series). I just wanna fight endless random battles with some form of campaign from the beginning of the war period to the end. SPWAW and Tin Soldiers and SPartan/Gates of Troy gets my stamp of approval. ;)
