I'm trying to save some of these guys for future use. Problem is, I can't figure out how to load them. I formed an AP TF in Darwin and moved it to the base where I wanted to load these units, but they don't show up as being able to load. Tried switching them to Australia Command HQ, but that had no effect.

Can't seem to find anything about this in the manual. Any ideas?

Thanks ahead of time.

Whipple

You have the right idea.
The Dutch units are assigned to a Restricted CommandOrg. Australia Command is one also.

You need to change to SouthPac, SouWestPac or SEAsia, etc.

Look in the manual for the list of Restricted Command Hqs.

Be careful!

Dutch NAVAL Base Forces will upgrade into "static" units. This can have unfortunate results - like having your base force suddenly upgrade in the middle of the Australian desert and stop moving, 600 miles from anywhere important.

Be sure to turn ACCEPT REPLACEMENTS to OFF until the unit gets where it is going.

OOh interesting didn't knew this one. Maybe because I've never moved Dutch from DEI before. I guess I'll continue to let them there [;)]

In my game against Spooky I am the Japanese. Spooky moved his Dutch Base Forces to Aus via Submarine. What he did was only move small fragments of the units to Aus but as I destroyed the parent formation`s I am assuming the fragment has grown to full size don`t know where the Dutch troops came from tho. I was able to catch a group of ten subs by port air attack and sink them once[:D]. He must have paid a lot PP`s to do this but it paid off for him as he is able to field a large number of aircraft from Nothern Aus.[:@]

Those Dutch base forces are sometimes lovingly referred to as "self-planting" BF's.

It's interesting to visualize a 8incher in a concrete emplacement at Alice Springs....... [:'(]
