Seems to happen randomly after I save the game. Not a game stopper, but it's getting anoying.

Is this something that happens to everyone, or is it just my system?

Thanks in advance.
Whipple

As in you save the game and when you try to exit out of the save game screen it CTD? If so yes this happens to me now and then. C'est la vie......

Yes me too, since 1.795, it happen like once each 3 or 4 save approx. At least, the game is saved. I should try to 'Quicksave' to see if it happen as well

happens to me after every few turns

Terminus -> RE: Crash to desk-top upon save (1/6/2006 4:50:03 PM)

It's been an issue for a looooooooooooooong time. Wait 3 or 4 seconds after the save is complete, before you hit the "exit" button; that sometimes helps.

Nikademus -> RE: Crash to desk-top upon save (1/6/2006 5:01:23 PM)

works every time for me. (wait at least 3-4 seconds after you get the save confirmation msg) never had a CTD after that.

When it happens to me I defrag the hard drive and restart the computer. It seems to cut the frequency of the crash down quite a bit. I'll let someone smarter than me explane why this makes a difference.

Mr.Frag -> RE: Crash to desk-top upon save (1/6/2006 5:54:06 PM)

This is a windows problem ... depending on how many things you have going on, the UI in WitP can come back to you quicker then the operating system can handle it because it's not actually done with the save ... the save finishes it's process but the UI has gone off the deep end. Give it a 10 count and you'll never have a problem.

That is what I thought. I blamed Mr Gates rather than Mr Grigsby.[:)]
