Copper -> No combat report being generated? (2/5/2006 6:38:18 PM)

I've just started a pbem game, I as the japanese, and when i complete my orders i hit the end turn button and save the game, but no combat report is created, only the saved game is able to be sent. I have combat reports turned on, so what gives?

If it's your first turn no combat has been fought yet...hence nothing to report on. After you receive your opponents turn the turn will cycle and complete itself and generate a combat report.

well when my opponent sends me his attachment there's still only 1 file, should there be two? Once I get his file i go straight to the orders phase, and dont get to see the results of my combat.

Again, I have combat reports set to on.

no. You as Japan resolve combat first after you get your first turn back from the Allied player. The very first thing that will always happen when you load the save (Turn 1 exempted as the game starts with the Japan orders phase) is the combat replay will occur...then once finished you are back at the orders phase for Japan.

When you end your turn, you'll save it. You now need to send both the combat replay (which is always saved in witp001.pws in your save game subfolder) and your saved turn (in whatever slot your currently) using.

The allied player only ever needs to send you his saved turn slot. its also a good idea to include the combatreport.txt file as well since out-of-sync's can sometimes occur. Japan player always sees the correct replay as your computer generates it first. Allied player computer (player 2) sometimes will see a different result. (if your witp versions are the same this should be low probability)
