caine -> Operation Barbarrossa comptability? (2/7/2006 5:37:44 PM)

Hello,

Is Operation Barbarrossa compatible with Pacific Fighters?

Thanks

From the info screen for the game, I would have to say no

Matrix Games is proud to present Just Flight latest offering Operation Barbarossa. Operation Barbarossa is the ultimate campaign add-on for IL * 2 Sturmovik and Forgotten Battles.

if you have IL-2 FB and have PF merged with it, then yes it will work (that is my set up)

PF does not have the Eastern front plane sets or maps

(I don't know if you a fileplanet member or not or go there, but they got IL-FB for download at 19.95 (NOT BAD) if you have PF, you could merge them, or have both as side games)

Barbarossa is good, but for me, The Last Days would be the way to go (if you can only buy one :)

Ok, I understand.I have PF+AEP+FB installed so it will be ok.

Many thanks

Kewl
yes that set up will work fine

lol my set up is

IL-2 FB/AEP/BOE/Oper Barbar/PF/TLD's/Banzai

in case you have not seen some of the other posts

Oper Barbar/Banzai are set up using Static Campaigns
while BOE/TLD's are Dynamic Campaigns

really, nothing right or wrong with either style, just depending on what your tastes are

Sorry, but what is BOE? Case Blue, Combat over Europe or what else?

Thanks

HomeFries -> RE: Operation Barbarrossa comptability? (2/8/2006 10:22:32 PM)

All are campaign packs for the IL-2 series.

BOE = Battle over Europe (DGEN campaigns for Normandy and Bastogne). Incidentally, designed by the guys who did the Normandy and Bastogne maps for IL-2 1.22 (this is a nice way to support them).

Case Blue = Scripted Eastern Front campaigns (plus bonus campaigns if you have a merged install). Really well scripted and worth the look.

Combat over Europe <> (not to be confused with) Battle over Europe. CoE was designed for the original IL-2 (prior to the Aces Expansion Pack (AEP)) and is awful. It uses a russian plane for the Battle of Britain, the training videos are cheesy, the "skin library" is a link to a freeware site (that is now offline), and a straight-up install will overwrite files you don't want overwritten (files that have since been updated after the CoE release). Avoid!

TLD = The Last Days. Semi-historical and alternate history here. More DGEN campaigns than you can shake a stick at, and all of them very detailed and engaging. This is currently the crown jewel of the campaign expansions [&o][&o].

Hope this helps.

Many thanks for the information.

Thank you Gonzo

ah yea, Scripted sounds better then what I was saying (but I couldn't remember what they were called :)

BOE is by Just flight (as is Oper Barbar)
it is good and well worth it

yea, I had heard bad things about COE and never got close to it ( I think a lot people got taken by it, thinking it was BOE when it first came out)

TLD's is sweet
