These two grand strategy games are currently at development for the computer.
I never played them, but read the rules.
How to they compare to each other?
What are there differences-similarities??
And of course which is more fun to play??
Regards Bob

I don't know much about AWAW but World in Flames is considered the benchmark for grand strategic WW2 games by many experienced players.

I'm helping with MWiF (the Matrix computer WiF) and it's progressing extremely well. If you check out the MWiF thread you can see for yourself.

There's been massive input from a dedicated fan-base into strategy, maps, counters, tutorials etc and the chief designer provides regular updates and feedback. WiF is a very complicated game but once one is used to it, it has a wonderful flow. The designer is determined to provide tutorials that ease newbies into the game and enable them to discover the game at their own pace. The best thing is that MWiF will remove all the book-keeping and rule-searching and allow us to concentrate on the strategy and tactics. As a result, I think MWiF will be much easier to learn and quicker to play than cardboard WiF. One will also be able to play against the AI (and with AI allies if wanted) or online or PBEM.

There's a lot of chrome planned as well, including reference material, music and replays. It looks like being an absolute cracker and unless something drastic goes wrong it should be released by the end of the year at the latest, and probably much sooner (as fraught with danger as such predictions are [;)] ).

Cheers, Neilster
