What are all of the options for Overtime?

Can pre-season games be scheduled?

Do injuries occur in training camp and pre-season causing players to miss regular season games?

I also would like to know about overtime, especially if an American Amateur game goes to overtime, each team is given one possession from its opponent's twenty-five yard line. The leader after those possessions, if there is one, is declared the winner. If the teams remain tied, this continues, switching the order of possessions for each overtime, until one team leads the other at the end of the overtime. Extra points do not count from the 3rd overtime on, making it necessary for teams scoring touchdowns to attempt a two-point conversion.

I hope there is OT rules similar to NFL Europe. I've never really liked NCAA OT (just inflates stats and scores in my opinion) and NFL and NFLE OT rules are simpiler to understand then NCAA.

I can't stand NCAA overtime rules. Terrible. First to score is better than that fiasco. In my opinion, and I doubt this is used anywhere. 6 points should win in OT. If the period ends before anyone scores 6, then whoever has the lead at the time wins....this way no one can win with a cheesy FG.

SECTION 8: TIE GAME
In the event that the score is tied at the end of the second half of a game each team will be given the opportunity to score using the following procedure.

The first team, as determined by coin toss, shall scrimmage the ball at the opponent's 35 - yard line, and may advance by consecutive series of downs until it makes a score or loses possession.

The second team will then scrimmage at the same 35 - yard line and proceed as above.

If the score is still tied the procedure shall be repeated, not more than once, or a winner is determined after both teams have had equal opportunities to score.

If a winner is not determined after two attempts the game will be declared a tie.

If the game is a playoff or championship game and a winner must be determined the same procedure shall continue until a winner is finally declared.

The World League of American Football (precursor to NFL Europe) required teams to win by 6 in OT.

The over time rules are either an extra period of selected time, sudden death, or no over time. The CFL changed their rules to use the shoot out system during this games development. Including the changes would have required substantial changes to the code and it was decided that the game would give the option of the "old fashioned" CFL overtime or the NFL type.
