Husard -> A.I. and Treaties?? (2/16/2006 10:08:30 AM)

Hello fellow Wargamers,
is it just me or does the A.I make the weirdest treaties??I play the 1792 scenario. Turkey,Russia and Poland,Nations with virtually no positive Feelings one to another formed an Alliance against me (Austria). I do realize that "historical" is not the strongest point here but an alliance between those three countries?c'mon gimme a break. Russia was even in War with the Poles
The next Turn Spain,the Brits and Sweden formed an alliance too and agreed to declare War on me in 3 months. The only thing that holds Prussia out of this Madness is the Fact that i play both Austria and Prussia.

The funniest thing in all this is the Fact that the Pope asks me 200 golds to "restore" my Name in those countries. Boy i had a relation of about 1000+ with the Brits.
Any Tips on how to make Treaties of my own more "acceptable" by the others?
Thanks
Ray

I understand your frustration early on. Take the approach that you will need to play a couple of games to find the right fit of strategies and mechanics for yourself.

I can get others to accept treaties by offering them territory, offering to come to their defense if they are attcked, offering them money, etc. Experiment with it and learn what works.

If you are in the lead with glory points, you inherit the bulls eye and all will gun for you.
But even with glory lead you can build helpful alliances.

If you spend some time looking through old topics you will find answers to most of your questions as well as good tips for game play. It will be well worth your time to do so.
