I have the rules. Where do I find all the charts?

Good Hunting.

Howdy Steve,

What you could do is download the vassal module for World in Flames (you can find a link to it, with comments and explanations, on Patrice's world-famous WIF web site [;)]

You can then open the module with Vassal - or else you can rename it with a ".zip" extension, unzip the files (a lot of them, so it may take some time) and then sort them by size : the tiny ones are mostly counters, the big ones are maps, charts and other (more or else useful) stuff.

Hope it'll help (certainly did that for me !)

Alain

PS : I have already given this piece of information in this thread : Pre-Ordering ? but maybe you didn't notice it

oscar72se -> RE: The RaW 7 Aug 04 and Scenario RTF (5/20/2009 3:18:33 PM)

You can download most of the charts in the Files section of the Wif-group at yahoo:
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/wifdiscussion/files/

I don't remember if you have to sign up, but it is free and you don't get spam [:)]

Regards,
Oscar

Be carefull however.
There are multiple copies of the charts that exist, and only one that is valid.
You recognize it by the copyright date.
The latest charts (green & red tables) are dated 2000.
The latest 2d10 combat chart is dated 2003.
Anything earlier is obsolete.

Alain,

Thanks, but I am totally focused on MWIF. Peering out of my foxhole is done only on rare occasions.

Aloha Steve,

Sorry for the confusion here, but I was replying to "Mad Russian" in fact (that's why I said "Howdy" and not "Aloha" [;)]) - his first name is Steve too.

It's a good thing you're focused on MWiF, by the way [:D] - but take time to enjoy yourself - why not take a trip to Hawaii ?

Alain, the Caquineur version

I trust MWiF is going to include Cruisers in Flames?

It is.

quote:

I notice that, in the 30 SetUp, Graf Spee and Deutschland start in Europe, as do Exeter, Ajax and Cumberland (with no sign at all of HMNZS Achilles).  Publicity for Cruisers in Flames includes the enticing promise that we can now fight the Battle of the River Plate ... so presumably these ships are allowed to start in the Atlantic?   Is this correct?

It's not unfortunately. Combat ships of neutral countries must return to base at the end of the turn, so can't be at sea at the beginning of the next turn. Thus the Graf Spee is in Germany at the start of S/O39.

BUT, this does not prevent you from moving it during the first impulse when you are at war with the CW, and initiate searches. The WiFZen will be that it sailed just before the outbreak of the war.

quote:

Does CiF include the gallant HMNZS Achilles?  I hope so.

Yes it is.
Surface factor 2 (the higher the better -- Yamato 11, Mogami 5, Brooklyn 3), defense 7 (the lower the better -- Yamato 0, Mogami 6, Brooklyn 6), AA 2 (Yamato 4, Mogami 1, Brooklyn 2), shore bombardment 0 (Yamato 4, Mogami 1, Brooklyn 1), move 6, range 5.

Could be possible with Milchcow SUBs? Or they are not available so early (I canīt see the counters now and I donīt remember when they are available).

composer99 -> RE: The RaW 7 Aug 04 and Scenario RTF (1/13/2010 3:35:59 PM)

There might be a Milchcow available in 1939; however it would be subject to the same restrictions of other neutral major powers (i.e. starting in a German-controlled port) at the start of the 1939 campaign.

I think you could left the MCsub at sea like cp ( make a "house" rule if RAW no allow it) to make possible the River Plate fight or some like that if you really want it, I think is not a decisive advantage and fix more or less with the real situation.
