BA Evans -> Two Questions - Advice Needed (7/11/2000 9:14:00 PM)

Hello All, I am playing the long campaign right now. I have two questions concerning my core force. 1. I have had a number of Tanks get destroyed over the course of the campaign. I notice that about 1/2 the tanks in my core force can hardly hit the broadside of a barn. These units have experience ratings of 90+ and I would expect them to be great shots. When I check their information I find that these tanks have a FIRE CONTROL = 0! Is there a way to fix this damage? Fix-all doesn't correct this damage. Do I need to court-marshal my repair crews? I didn't realize it at the time, but the SP Gun uses the ARMOR rating, while the 75mm Infantry Gun uses the ARTILLERY rating. Since the 75mm crew is now operating the SP Gun, I find that the SP gun has a very low rating in the required ARMOR skill. Is there a way to get a new crew in the SP Guns that has better ARMOR ratings? I am willing to trade two crews high in ARTILLERY for two crews high in ARMOR. p) Thanks in advance for your advice, BA Evans [This message has been edited by BA Evans (edited 07-11-2000).]

I can't address the optics thing but in the thread on "Crews are changing if you change the AFV."
quote:

Hello... It works this way.If there are no survivers in the crew, it is replaced if you fix or upgrade the unit.If there are survivers, you have a choice. If the leader has really bad characteristics or the crew is an unusually crummy one, you should select exchange unit. You will get a new crew. If they are kind of good, hit fix, first. Then, you will get the new tank with the old crew. Hope this helps... Michael Wood
I used the helpful search feature to find this. ------------------ An old soldier but not yet a faded one. OK, maybe just a bit faded.
