Good reading Leo, Im a bit older than you [;)] both of my grandfathers were 1890's (1896 & 1898) and grandmothers were 1904 & 1908. One grandpa died before I was born and the other when I was 12 but both grannies lived to 93 & 89 respectively, I wished I would have had the sense to sit down with a mini cassette or digital recorder and talk to them about their lives, etc.........you think about the changes that generation(late 19th early 20th Century) saw in their lifetimes...........my granny went from her dad taking her to town in a horse drawn wagon (circa 1918 rural Texas) to buy her wedding dress to computers, TV and the A-Bomb!?!?!?!?!?!!! BTW, my grandparents (3 of them - one died of natural causes in WWII) lived in following countries although they didn't move [;)]:

Austrian-Hungarian Empire (when eperor Franz Joseph was still alive)
Kingdom of Yugoslavia (and "Serbo-Croat-Slovene" state/kingdom before state renaming to "Yugoslavia")
Germany occupied Croatia
Yugoslavia (communist state with Tito as leader)
Croatia (of today)
