I unpacked Eastern Stadium from the stad.wvs file in the game. Basically it has two .x direct x graphic files and a bunch of bmp files that are the textures used in those .x files. For those of you wanting to make stadiums, these files may be a good starting point or if you just want to do some simple bmp editing of the existing stadium.

I uploaded the file with a readme.txt included to FBMax for anyone interested. I have done the arena stadium as well and will upload it after testing it in game.

I plan on unpacking all the stadiums eventually, it doesn't take too long. I tried making a utility to do it automatically, but ran into some difficulties at the very end that was taking longer than just doing it by myself.

frunky -> RE: Eastern Stadium Unpacked (3/14/2006 1:06:34 AM)

I think he has to extract them for the .boa files
not sure if the boa tuility that came out can extract the .boa files from fbpro99 [:(]

Sounds interesting, not sure what format they were in. Problem is I don't have '99 anymore, I sent it back during the recall. Not sure they would be of much help here since the geometry of the stadiums and the way the engine handles them has to be drastically different.

i could email you the boa files.

Magnum357 -> RE: Eastern Stadium Unpacked (3/15/2006 12:59:14 AM)

I have Football Pro 99 aswell, if you want me too send you a CD of the game, I could burn one for you and send it by mail. Private message me and we can discuss so more about it.

mark1726 -> RE: Eastern Stadium Unpacked (3/15/2006 2:57:56 PM)

I sent both of you guys a pm. It would be great if there was stuff in those boa files we can use in this game but I am not holding my breath. I doubt I can even get at them, we will see.

kshinner -> RE: Eastern Stadium Unpacked (3/23/2006 6:37:41 PM)

Has anyone unpacked the player model? 'Cause it could use some tweaks. Sasquatch doesn't have feet that big. And, who supersized the foreheads of everyone in my league? Not to mention that the bmps don't map too well...

Lucas718 -> RE: Eastern Stadium Unpacked (3/23/2006 7:26:04 PM)

What did you use to unpack the stadiums?

VCFL Commish -> RE: Eastern Stadium Unpacked (3/23/2006 8:20:46 PM)

this may sound stupid but here goes you unpacked the staduim does it have to be repacked to use the work you done

frunky -> RE: Eastern Stadium Unpacked (3/23/2006 8:41:39 PM)

No need to repack just put everything on a seperate folder and rename the folder

DONMVP -> RE: Eastern Stadium Unpacked (3/23/2006 11:01:08 PM)

This also might sound dumb , .You said you could put in a folder . Is that so you can build a stadium . If so do you also need to put a field bmp in the folder to. Sorry not sure what all the unpacking is for .

The field .bmp files are in another folder.

The stadium was packed as a stadium and its related .bmp files like scoreboard and sidewall art as well as the stadium 3D fans file.

Magnum357 -> RE: Eastern Stadium Unpacked (3/24/2006 1:14:19 AM)

Ya, the reason why people are unpacking the stock Stadiums is too use the components that make them up (like the .bmp files and the Polygon Stadiums themselves). You don't need to repack the stuff in the files.

I just create my own stadiums with my own components (I try to make them low poly so that low end systems can handle them better then the High Poly Stock Stadiums in the game). All you have too do is go to the Stadiums folder, rename the Folder that is going to hold your custom stadium to whatever name you want, be sure too include your .X Stadium model and .bmp's, and copy one of the Stadium.txt files to the folder. The game will identify the stadium and allow you too select it.

I have only partially made one stadium so far (a Highschool stadium) but I had to put it on the back burner to concentrate on a utility I'm working on.

Use a hex editor and it is pretty easy from there. There are no utilities that do this yet, I was making one then got stuck and sidetracked.

Do you have a modified stadium?

I am using Caligari TrueSpace to make new stadiums, but the program is a pain to use.

Deltadog -> RE: Eastern Stadium Unpacked (3/31/2006 4:21:58 AM)

It would be interesting to see what a stadium components looks like in the format of the program which creates them, (example TureSpace) before it is converted to the format the game understancs (????.x) Also is there a program which will open these files in the format there are in when unpacked. ( by files I do not mean the bmp files, i.e those with x extension)

Whoops I can't believe I missed this

I used 3d max 5 which is a little easier to use than True Space
But if your new to 3d it's still gonna be hard to use.

I tried to use 3d max 7 from work and the Direct X exporter would not export properly. I have 3d max 5 at home and that worked better for exporting to direct X. The images on the walls are backwards so it looks bad when you put words. But it the best I could do [&:]

The building.x is the modified stadium ou can download western Stadium from fbmax.com :)

Metro Stadium was from an old stadium I had made a long time ago so it was a quickie job :D

I have the stadium in .max format and .3ds format

Magnum357 -> RE: Eastern Stadium Unpacked (4/2/2006 8:05:58 AM)

Just to let people know, i have had complete success making a stadium for Maximum Football with just Milkshape. If your new to modeling and you want a cheap and easy way to learn how to make 3d Models, Milkshape is a good choice.
