Wild Bill -> Dutchie's Scenario Lists (3/24/2006 8:11:20 AM)

I have a problem. I can read the intro text to these fine database files Dutchies has prepared but I don't have a spreadsheet program to open them.

Is there not some program one can download that can at least open these files? I'd really like to have them so that I can read them.

Hi Bill. Don't know which files you're talking about (is it the database listing all the scenarii available for WaW?) but I know of a real good free tool to open spreadsheets: OpenOffice. As a matter of fact it's the best substitute for Microsoft Office as it can read, write, and open every Office files PLUS it has a far better built in file format for every office work (text, spreadsheet, html files, and so on. A must have! Here it is:

My pleasure [:)]
I forgot to mention that if the files you're interested in are made with Excel, you can also download a simpler software called Excel Viewer. It's just a viewer -as the name implies- and it's free from Microsoft (yes, free + Microsoft, not a typo mistake [:D] ). It just allows to open and read Excel files but if that's just what someone needs... . It can be found here:

For those suspicious... Minilien (could be translated to MiniLink) is a french online utility. You copy a long URL, from any webpage, and paste it in the window provided by Minilien. It'll return a compacted link. It's great to avoid long URLs mistakenly cut.
Anyway, for those REALLY suspicious, you'll find Excel Viewer on the Microsoft website, download section. Search for a file called: "xlviewer.exe".
