Feinder -> RE: Name This...(480) (4/4/2006 5:53:56 PM)

SBC Helldiver!

-F-

m10bob -> RE: Name This...(480) (4/4/2006 7:22:33 PM)

It's not a Curtiss Helldiver because the tail is wrong and the initial Helldiver on had retractable landing gear.
This plane has fixed gear, (and is not in any book I have at my disposal.)
Have noted it is painted in standard USN colors, post Pearl Harbor, and has naval arrestor gear..
Way to go, Brady.............

Curtiss SOC-1 land configuration. A wheeled Seagull. [&o]

MkXIV -> RE: Name This...(480) (4/4/2006 7:47:17 PM)

What ship is she taking off of, Ranger?

Ron Saueracker -> RE: Name This...(480) (4/4/2006 7:49:04 PM)

Looks like a SOC Seagull without the float configuration.

mlees -> RE: Name This...(480) (4/4/2006 8:11:50 PM)

SOC-1 or 2 Seagull, carrier landing.

Mike Solli -> RE: Name This...(480) (4/4/2006 8:27:54 PM)

Looks like it's taking off to me. The tail hook is too high.

Terminus -> RE: Name This...(480) (4/4/2006 8:54:53 PM)

Definitely... The hook's not deployed...

Capt Cliff -> RE: Name This...(480) (4/4/2006 9:35:19 PM)

Definately a Seagull with a tailhook, but who's the third guy from the left doing the Popeye impressonation?[:'(]

......................

It is actualy a SOC 3A, but I am not going to be to anal about this one[:)] Pictured her being Launced from the USS Long Island on ASW Patrole in May 1942, if you Look real hard you can see a Depth bomb slung under her. Below adational Picks From the USS Long Island dating from Dec. 41 to June 42, aparently these were used on the USS Long Island and other US CV's for Scouting and ASW work, be nice to have a couple of these around for such work huh, along with their Japanese counterparts of course, which are also absent from the game.
