1. When ships upgrade on a given month, say 4/42? Will they upgrade at the beginning of the month or end of the month?
2. What is the max level of sys damage a ship can have and still upgrage (seems I recall 10%).

1): They upgrade at the first chance they get. If the ship is below its minimum sys damage, and in a port with a shipyard, the upgrade occurs.

2): Depends on the ship type. Anywhere from 2 to 10%

i'm not pay attention a lot for 2 to 10 % sys damage but this seems work for me.

1. capitol ships (CV, BB, CA) upgrade with less than 5 sys damage...

2. DDs which are scheduled for upgrade i sent two weeks earlier in ports - when upgrade is ready, my DDs repaired previous sys damage and therefore ready for upgrade)

PS...

keep in mind that is always better to upgrade ships when they have minor or none damage. It will take less time for repairs.

One small addition The shipyard must be a REPAIR shipyard[;)]
