This is against the AI, CHS and 1.8.

As you will see they have no dmaage whatever, but look at their endurance. If I try to refuel (they are at Pearl and there's loads of fuel) I get no response.....

I don't desperately need them, just wondeering if this was maybe one off?

Try disbanding the task force, and then reforming it and trying to refuel again. Alternatively, let this TF sit for a turn and then try again. You could also try resetting their home port to Pearl, and see if that makes a difference.

Never seen anything like this, though...

And keep in mind that the Utah is a immovable ship.

Well, there is that, of course, but that should keep the destroyers from refuelling. Maybe it confused the program.

Probably because the Utah is a "static" ship, the TF is static and does not need fuel as it isn't going anywhere.

Take out the Utah or disband and form new TF.

Well it developed a bit.... the Utah, the DM and the DMS despite not having any fuel to move went happily off to Canton Island. Once there the DM and DMS have refuelleed happily. The Utah is now sitting in this condition at Canton Island...... immovable huh?

Capt Henry_MatrixForum -> RE: Weird problem in trying to refuel (4/30/2006 11:27:48 PM)

Isn't there a feature where all ships can move at least one hex per turn as the program is simulating tugs? I know I've been able to move the Dewey Dry Dock from Manila to Australia in the CHS scenario.

I don't think the program is able to distinguish between completely static and something that might be moved under tow. Still, one hex per turn is pretty close to static in my book.

Accepted, but in this case it motored along quite smartly and took about a week to get there..... turbocharged I think!

Whatever fuel you're using in your ships, send some of it to me!

juliet7bravo -> RE: Weird problem in trying to refuel (5/1/2006 3:40:06 AM)

Why on earth did they include UTAH if they (1) Made her immobile, and (2) took away all her weapons? If the point was to have her present at PH to soak up torps, then why not have her "upgraded" the next day (if she survived) with her real stats?

Hi, In order to attract torpedos she would need higher durabilty numbers. She is a low value target as modeled (we know that is correct but the intent is to fool the Japanese)

Didn't the scenario notes say "do not put into a TF"?

I forgot, I'm a very old person with little brains any more!

It was BB in earlier CHS versions, but it did attract too much Japanese ordnance then.
