m10bob -> OLD tALONSOFT "NT" WOES!!!???? (5/5/2006 11:26:42 AM)

Dug out some of my old Talonsoft titles to install on my XP CPU, but the installer on these games reads my 'puter as an NT, (and refuses to initiate installation.
Is there anyway to get around this??
I want to play TOAW now before the Matrix version is released.....

I never played TOAW, but had same problem with WF. The latest patch {1.05} fixed this. Perhaps a patch for TOAW will fix it?

Luck

I have installed TAOW:CoW on my XP awhile back.

I think you need to fiddle with setup.exe and set the Compatability mode to win95.

My problem is not one of playing the game..It is of INSTALLING it!
How might I "Fiddle" with setup.exe if I can't get it onto my HD??

Can you install it by accessing the CD and manualling running the setup program?

Arkady -> RE: OLD tALONSOFT "NT" WOES!!!???? (5/5/2006 4:59:14 PM)

find setup.exe on your CD, right-click and select 'Properties'
Then click on 'Compatibility' tab and select option that you want run this program in Win95 compatibility mode

Arkady -> RE: OLD tALONSOFT "NT" WOES!!!???? (5/5/2006 5:10:59 PM)

and if this not help, just copy TOAW folder from CD to your HDD , download patch and run it

Great suggestions, have tried all, but either I get the
"Windows NT not supported" flag, or I get the "Do you want to report this error to Microsoft" flag..
Even opened the compatability wizard, and it is useless even when it clearly sez "All programs which operated on a prior Windows version will work with this XP device!"(Sure pal, and I don't wanna buy your dirty postcards either, besides, its' not nice to your sister!)[:-][:D]
