Hi, I don't think they wanted it to be a viable Allied strategy to do nothing except secure 1 base in range of Home Islands and then A-bomb Japan to destruction. The bomb can help end the war but it was not intended to be a "Silver Bullet"

Mog I have a question for you. I am not that familiar with the production system, but I was under the impression that Manpower was for producing troops. Is manpower required for industry as well - or just troop production? B

Ok, so why not just fire bomb the industry? Is it more effective to start firestorms by bombing Manpower? That's where my confusion lies... The way you as the player order the bombers to carry incendiary bombs is by "targeting" Manpower. Any other City Attack target tells them to use HE.

Mog, these results look pretty impressive (to me anyway). Does each hit represent damaged or destroyed industry, or resources, etc? I have not played that far to find out yet for myself - My PBEMs go about one for one with real time. Hi, Each target is rated for how hard it is to damage/destroy. Each hit does damage according to size of bomb. I show 646 Heavy Industry damaged in Nagoya (356 hits) and 172 resource damaged (77 hits) but that might be FOW.

Hi 1 may 1945 Japanese score 33155 Allied score 37266 JSL 5754 Allies need to score near 29044 points in May/June/July (9681 per month) to achive surrender by mid Aug 1945. I still have not seen much of a drop in points Japan scores for bases. Other then Borno/Java/sumatra/Malaya Japanese bases should begin running out of supply soon. The Allies are preparing to capture Formosa to sever the conection between Japan and SRA once and for all. Chinese units are attempting to capture Canton and secure a port where they can be supplied by western Alliance. The British are moving towards Rangoon. Target for bombing month of May TOKYO. The city is to be reduced totally this month.

If you damage 1200 of it in May - how long will it take to repair that? 1 point per day at a cost of 1000 supply per point? Also - just who is this game against? AI? B

Hi, Yes at 1 repair a day Tokyo will never repair. Also I hope Japan does not have the supply to repair even if it had the time. Operation "Stomp Tokyo" is being conducted by the B-29 groups on Tinian and Saipan while Operation "Eclipse" is being conducted by groups on Guam. "eclipse" seeks out the largest remaining resource centers for targets. This will reduce the amount of direct supply Japan produces. (hopefully the lack of oil prevents the conversion of resource to supply by Heavy industry) I'm playing the AI because no human wants to be Japan and it's faster.

Question - I have been following your bombing campaign with interest, and I'm curious that you mentioned Fog Of War. If it's really a test campaign against AI - why didn't you turn FOW off? Operation "Stomp Tokyo" is being conducted by the B-29 groups on Tinian and Saipan while Operation "Eclipse" is being conducted by groups on Guam. "eclipse" seeks out the largest remaining resource centers for targets. This will reduce the amount of direct supply Japan produces. (hopefully the lack of oil prevents the conversion of resource to supply by Heavy industry) I'm playing the AI because no human wants to be Japan and it's faster.

Hi, Update 1 June 1945 Japanese score 35316 Allied Score 47237 Japanese Strategic Loss (JSL)(bombing) 12028 With 75 days approx before historic Japanese surrender date Allies need to score 23395 points. I think it is fairly certain Allies will exceed 2-1 ratio before March 1946 but I'd like to do it before the historic time. Around 4000 resource remain undamaged in Home Island. I'm going to concentrate on these in June.
