PackerMan32 -> Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/11/2006 7:15:56 AM)

Here is the schedule editing portion of the Max Utilities Suite. In this release you can view or change any the schedules in your league either by Team or Week. Want to change who you are playing each week, just select the team you want to play either on your team schedule view or on the week schedule view.

**NOTE** I would highly recommend backing up your league database to safe location before using this utility. It should not corrupt the league database, but just in case any unforeseen errors occur it would be good to have a backup. However, this is true with any utility that modifies the league database.

The Print Schedule and Generate Schedule are not functional yet. Only changing who teams play. I plan to allow users to generate automatic scheduling using different scheduling methods (ie. Division Play, Conference Player, Round Robin, Random, etc.)
Until then, enjoy this release.

When you come out with auto scheduling, please consider one option to allow each team to play each other team only once. I have done a lot of work on a college league, and rarely does one college play another more than once a season. The first year I manually changed the schedule to provide one game per season against each team, but it will be a pain to have to do this each season to get a differant arrangement each time. It would also be nice to be able to reserve some match ups for the final game of the season. (like Army-Navy, Alabama-Auburn, Miss. State-Ole Miss, Texas - Texas A & m, ETC.)

Worked fine for me at 3:22 pm CDT

PackerMan32 -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/12/2006 1:03:38 AM)

Frunky - Did you receive any error messages when you tried to load a league? Or did it just give you the runtime error number? Also, are you getting the error when trying to load all league databases or do some work while others don't?

Thanks for the info.

Rottweiler69 -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/12/2006 1:38:30 AM)

THANK YOU!!!! I have been waiting for scheduling since the game released! It works nicely too!! Thank you!! I do ok with uniforms, so if I can make any for you Packerman, let me know.

I get the following error message when I try and load my custom league, "Error occured in LoadPlayer function of cPlayer. The following error message was returned: Invalid use of Null"

PackerMan32 -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/12/2006 4:28:02 AM)

Thanks for the error message. This should be fixed if you re-download and re-install.

frunky -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/12/2006 8:16:25 PM)

it was runtime error 430 when trying to load the league
I'll try the latest one when I get home [:)]

WinstonFatCat -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/13/2006 3:44:43 AM)

Where do I download and setup the schedule editor. Should I download to the Maximum Football file, then just run setup or what.....I love this tool, just don't know how to setup.

Thanks

PackerMan32 -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/13/2006 8:10:20 AM)

Download the file from the link in the first post above. Run the setup file that you downloaded to install the utility. Run the utility from Start->Programs-Max Utilities folder and then load your league database and push the Scheduling button.

I get a problem with msado15.dll when installing and then get a runtime error 430 when trying to load a league.

WinstonFatCat -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/13/2006 8:41:25 PM)

I'm getting the 430 runtime error message

PackerMan32 -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/13/2006 10:07:47 PM)

After doing a little research on the cause of this error, it looks like those who are getting this may not have the most recent version of MDAC installed. If you are getting this error go to the link below and download MDAC_TYP.EXE file. This will install the most recent versions of the files you need. In the future I will try and put this into the installation package so it does not need to be a seperate download.

VCFL Commish -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/14/2006 8:15:44 AM)

Can you give a direct link to the file to download I seem to be going in cirles trying to find it?

22sec -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/14/2006 3:50:09 PM)

I get the 430 runtime message with my custom created league, but the stock leagues work fine. Now my custom created league doesn't have a game generated schedule yet.

Rottweiler69 -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/15/2006 6:14:30 AM)

I received the same error at first, then realized I was trying to edit schedules that were not actually created yet. The utility does not CREATE schedules, but edits them. I then started my season for my custom league and one of the things the game created were schedules. After that, the utility works fine. Just a few ideas to hopefully help anyone out.

frunky -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/15/2006 9:22:03 PM)

I have the latest Mdac files and still get the runtime error when attempting to load the league

Deltadog -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/15/2006 9:46:13 PM)

Does your league have a schedule generated. I have had no problem opening a league with a generated schedule. At the same time I get a run-time 424 error when I open a league with NO roster and no sechedule generated.

frunky -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/15/2006 9:50:20 PM)

Yea it does the league is currently in week 7 of season 2
I also tried the default leagues which I haven't really messed with and it still has the problem [&:]

Marauders -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/15/2006 10:36:24 PM)

I am running Windows 98SE, and I get the error. What OS are you all running?

Packerman, the link to that file has some sort of Microsoft funny business going on. Will that work with Windows 98?

Deltadog -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/16/2006 4:48:22 PM)

What does MDAC_TYP.EXE do when downloaded and run?

I searched my computer for this file and have no copy of it. When I tried to run the utility it ran well! I assume that this execute file must create some other file needed to run the utility which I may already have had through Windows installation or from some other source?

PackerMan32 -> RE: Max Utilities Schedule Editing Now Available! (5/16/2006 8:12:52 PM)

The link to the MDAC files on the Microsoft site validates your windows installation first. It's microsofts new tool in the war against piracy. Nothing to worry about if you have a valid copy of windows.

The MDAC_TYP.EXE file will install the most recent version of ADO files, which is the component (one of them) that VB6 uses to communicate with databases. It most likely installed some DLL that the utility uses on your machine, such as msado15.dll. Most people probably have older versions of the ado files since Microsoft likes to periodically upgrade them with different OS versions and service packs, but apparently doesn't like to keep them backwards compatible, which gives developers that use them lots of headaches.

If installing the MDAC_TYP.EXE file didn't work and you are still getting the 430 runtime error, I'm not sure what's happening but I'll continue to look into it.
