KG Erwin -> RE: is cash available to trade? (5/20/2006 2:01:20 AM)

Cash transactions for players are not available. This would apply more to the reserve clause era, but to do this, the financial system has to be completely shut down. I see some logic in this, as allowing a cash base without free agency would give a human player an unfair advantage. With finances OFF, the human player is still given an advantage, especially when using real players. One can draft a Warren Spahn or Stan Musial in 1946 and never have to worry about salary demands. I'm still struggling with this feature -- which gives the AI a better chance to remain competitive vs a human-owned team, finances on or off?
