watchtower -> Best on-line store for wargames? (5/20/2006 12:56:41 PM)

Any recomendations for good on-line stores that stock the more obscure PC wargames? Got some birthday money to spend and looking to fill up on some older titles that I have missed over the last couple of years. Looking for something else WW2 to play whilst waiting for Harpoon and the BTR/BOB rehash.

www.nws-online.net has fair prices, good service, owned by wargamers, fair shipping charges. Used items too.

I had a good experience with NWS
He is a quite active forum member at wargamer.com as well

Another vote for NWS. Good service, and excellent prices.

Hi All,

Through experience I can very easily recommend NWS to all wargamers. The best prices and service I have had for any online shopping.

Regards John

Is Chip's n Bit's still around?
They used to have lots of older and hard to find titles.

AlvinS -> RE: Best on-line store for wargames? (5/21/2006 5:28:14 AM)

I have bought from NWS twice before, and I highly recommend them. I actually got a call from the owner when I ordered one of his Naval wargames and posted a question on his forums. He is very helpful. [8D]

watchtower,

NWS has already been cited, with reason, it seems.

As you're from UK, you might want to check with Duchet. Shipping fees are included in the prices. I have no experience with them though.

JeF.

Just in case anyone here doesnt know already.. we also offer extremely reliable international shipping at reasonable rates and we do work with our international customers when and where we can to keep down on duties/taxes.

Thanks.

My one experience with Duchet was not good. I ordered Take Command:Bull Run from them, and it took something like six weeks to arrive. Apparently there was a delay in getting stock from the US, so that may have just been a one-off.

Warship NWS -> RE: Best on-line store for wargames? (5/22/2006 4:15:25 AM)

We can ship to the UK in about 1-2 weeks on average using Registered Air Mail. We use RAM shipping as it includes tracking, tight security (this avoids lost, damaged, or stolen shipments), and insured.

Thanks.

Go with NWS. Good experiences with them so far.

rhondabrwn -> RE: Best on-line store for wargames? (5/22/2006 4:50:17 AM)

Based on earlier, favorable, recommendations here in the Forum, I've purchased several HPS games from NWS. I can't say enough about their great service (and I'm cheap enough to really enjoy their discount pricing).

It's also nice to see that they are so involved in our hobby that they can reply to our comments in this thread! Could you imagine a GameSpot exec popping in with a few comments to add to our discussion on their limited stocking of PC games? Hah.. that would be the day!

Anyway, good going NWS [&o][&o][&o]... who needs GameSpot anyway!

watchtower -> RE: Best on-line store for wargames? (5/22/2006 3:53:36 PM)

Looks like i'll be ordering something from NWS then. Sounds like a dedicated pro - now Iv'e just got the quandry of what to get!!

oi_you_nutter -> RE: Best on-line store for wargames? (5/23/2006 2:54:25 AM)

Watchtower, buy lots as the pound is strong and the dollar is weak !

the more you buy = the more you save

Skeleton -> RE: Best on-line store for wargames? (5/23/2006 3:18:50 AM)

NWS is the only way to go. Chris is beyond fair in regards to prices. He is always quick to answer questions and concerns, not to mention his stock or rather his ability to get you anything is really impressive. I cannot say enough good things about NWS, I have been so happy with him that unless I have to buy software from the developer, I only buy from NWS. Is that a ringing enough endorsement?

Crimguy -> RE: Best on-line store for wargames? (5/23/2006 6:08:47 PM)

Bittorrent. The best.

Just kidding [:D]

Always hear good things about NWS. I've bought from chipsnbits and it went smooth.

On a related note, I have digital download editions of WITP and Flashpoint Germany from the Matrix store. They have a VERY GOOD system. I also bought Take Command 2nd Manassas as a digital download and it too is very good. They use a slightly annoying download program that requires .NET 2.0, but otherwise it's terrific.

watchtower -> RE: Best on-line store for wargames? (5/24/2006 1:40:49 AM)

The Matrix Direct Download system is great have never had a problem but with owning 14 Matrix titles I thought I might give another company a chance!!

wodin -> RE: Best on-line store for wargames? (5/24/2006 1:06:55 PM)

I agree NWS;)
