Andrew Brown -> News on new version on my map (5/20/2006 4:21:38 PM)

Hi all,

I finished uploading version 6.0 of my mew WitP map and converting all of the scenarios, only to find out that there is a bit of mixed up base text on the map (for Christsmas Island IO). Being a bit of a perfectionist nitpicker I decided to fix that. I also have taken the opportunity to make another change - adding another river port, this time Calcutta*.

This means that the map version will go to 6.1. Same for the scenarios. I have done all the scenario conversions, but the new map is not yet uploaded to the mirror sites. As soon as that is done, I will announce it here. Expect that to take another couple of days.

Andrew

* I got this idea from "El Cid Again". Calcutta was one of the most heavily used ports in India at the time, so I agree that it deserves to be a port instead of an airfield.

Andrew your map makes me wanna continue to play this game. Thanks for all your hard work. Why anyone is still using the in accurate stock map mistifies me. [:D]

I've down loaded 1.801 to an exisitng PBEM - CHS extended map scenario,

In the game I have a TF of subs out of Panama City enroute to Pearl and another TF of AK's from middle est enroute to Bombay, eveything was going along ok, on the very first turn after the upgrade I now have both of these TF's grounded in the grayed out areas of the map.

It appears that these TF's are surely stuck, any ideas on this.

Definitely a case of swapped pwhex files.

Did your IJN opponent accidently change his?

Good question, I'll get him to reload, I reloaded mine after I patched up,

THANKS

Others before have had the same thing happen.
It might take awhile for those TF's to get unstuck.

Do you have a previous save, before they went off course?
See if your opponent is willing to do the turns over.

This problem can also be fixed if BOTH players change to my "standard map" data file, sail all "stuck" TFs to an ocean hex instead of a "blocked" hex, then swap back to the "extended" map data again (after ensuring that there are NO TFs left in the blocked areas first).

Note the emphasis on BOTH players.

"Both" IS the key.[:D]
