Dave, many folks have had that problem. Four things you can do : 1) Check your sound card settings -- does it have a volume control for various file types? 2) Disable playback of wav files if you use Windows Media Player -- all wav files on your PC will default to your sound card. 3) Make sure you have DirectX 9.0c installed. 4) If you have Quick-Time player, disable qttask on your startup list. The lack of in-game sound is NOT a program bug -- it is a hardware issue. Doing all of the above on my Dell 2400 DID take care of the problem.
