What do you want it to do for you?

I'm pretty happy with the alternate baseball world I've created, so successive patches are just icing on the cake for me.

To make me happier, enhance the in-game experience. I like the feeling of being at the ballpark.

The geek stuff doesn't matter so much to me. All I want are the tools to manage my team into a winner. The stats that the scouts use to evaluate the up-and coming minor leaguers are important. The extraneous crap is just that.

Playing the dual role of manager/GM makes one focus on the essentials. This is the position I take.

For "big-picture" simmers, I'd think there's enough numbers to keep you happy. I've been looking for a baseball sim like this since the 1980s, and here it is.

I bought PS 2005 pre-Matrix, and I bought PS 2007 too. Shaun is close to having the best baseball game that ever was, and I wanna be there when it's recognized as such.

Yes it does....and more with each day...thanks to the likes of PadresFan104 and yourself. Two questions...first, when downloading the take me out to the ballgame, where does it go?...and second...is there anyplace on the screen that we can find the number of men left on base in a game?...Thanks...

Yep...plain and simple!

With the addition of the almanac (and soon to return right click, next, and previous buttons), PS pretty much does what I need it to do. About the only thing I believe it is lacking is the ability to play single games. If enough other users want it, Shaun would probably add that in later.

The only other baseball program that I felt gave me enough stats, enough control, and enough historical accuracy was Avalon Hill's Statis-Pro baseball.

Until I stumbled upon PS back at the end of 2004, I was running a version of Statis-Pro on a Commodore 64 emulator.

I spent hundreds of hours entering the data for real teams (I think it was 21 different entries for batters and 16 for pitchers). Now the Lahman dB can do this in a couple of clicks. Oh happy day[:)].

I agree about the ability to play single games. It could be created as a 2 team league, and the option to play as many games as you want. For instance, to play out a world series, you could enter seven games, and adjust the home and road teams yourself.

well, I suppose it could have slightly bigger breasts and maybe put out a little more often, but that's about it :)

You know, I really like this the more I think about it.

One of the things I would like the ability to do is select teams and play them in a tournament, round-robin, or series format.

I bet that if we keep posting our requests, they will be met. I feel everything that we have mentioned here is feasible. I hope our requests will be met...

I'd really like to get better access to WP, HBP, and PB data for pitchers, and SH and SF data for hitters. It'll help to get eras even more right.

I would also really, really like to have more control over pitcher usage in the XML. Right now, no matter what other settings you make, your staff has to have a closer, and that closer will always come in to save 30+ games for you every season. That's just plain not realistic for any league played up until the 1980s, and even in the '80s you had guys like Dan Quisenberry and Willie Hernandez who would give you 70 games and 120 IP a year, which means they'd come in during the 7th or 8th and pitch to the end a lot of the time. There's literally more baseball history that was played without the save statistic than was played with it.
