NickZ -> Weird Experiment Works... (5/29/2006 10:17:32 AM)

Hey, I used to post semi-regularily on these boards, before Matrix took them over. Yes, it took me this long to rejoin. Happy with the game, it's one of the best out there due to its customization. I mean...100 uniforms maximum per team? Now I'm not complaining that EA leaves out so-and-so's classic jerseys next year when we have that kind of capability. I'm currently in the process of making (yet another) fantasy league, but this time it's an Arena league. Currently working on the addons as we speak, team-by-team. I'll post pics up in the Graphics forum once I get near done with them. Anyhoo, the real point of this post...

Feeling bored, I decided to connect my Xbox 360 wired controller to my PC and see if it worked with some games. NHL 06...didn't work. I curiously looked at Maximum-Football, and was surprised that the controller was able to be detected by the game. Hit the game, and the 360 controller WORKED AMAZINGLY with it! And this is Maximum-Football we're talking about! I used to play MF with the keyboard, but now since the 360 controller is able to work with the game, there isn't really a choice anymore of which method. Kinda weird, but, hey, it worked out.

Great to be back, can't wait to see what comes out of this fledgling addon community here...

Maximum-Football should support most USB game controllers. With the correct drivers installed, the X360 controller is similar to other Microsoft controllers. There are some that don't seem to work well (or at all) but I believe those problems come down to drivers not working properly or their USB descriptor is reporting the device as something it really isn't

As I recall, the XBox 360 controller was one of them that worked in the beta tests.
