Southern Hunter -> Morale Loss Error (5/31/2006 7:07:52 PM)

Just playing as Prussia in 1792 (with the extra cavalry). Tough gig as Prussians.

Austria surrendered, so the French came to my capital. I defended, and smashed them in every battle, then was forced to surrender. Looking at my morale report, it seems I lost -1260 points in morale for 'losing a battle', which I didn't in fact lose. Seems like the press got it wrong maybe :P

Just when I was about to announce my stunning victory, the country surrenders, doh!

Southern Hunter -> RE: Morale Loss Error (6/1/2006 3:15:05 AM)

I have slept on this now and want to add one thing..

After I completely routed the French in the battle, and they were retreating, I hit 'fast resolve' or whatever the button is, so that the rest of the battle would get done automatically. At this point, we ALSO called a retreat, which has happened to me several times, and I rather wish would not happen once the battle is already won.

Maybe this explains why I got the negative glory? (even though the other side retreated first, I kept the battlefield, most of their army surrendered to me, etc).

There's rumor of a bug that both sides can lose a battle if they both call retreat.  I tried to write some code to stop this back around version 1.1, but apparently it didn't stop it.  I'll look it over again and see if I can figure out where it's going astray.
