PadresFan104 -> PadresFan's Mod Website Update Thread (6/5/2006 6:48:04 AM)

All -

Tonight I uploaded a new set of 27 ballparks, based on images from the old classic PC baseball game, "Tony LaRussa Baseball." They are the ballparks that were in existence in the early 90's, although I may have given them more modern names. For example, I named Jack Murphy Stadium, Qualcomm Stadium. This completes the work with Tony LaRussa and Old Time Baseball. Enjoy!

Also wanted to mention that while I still hope to post a 2006 Association File soon, it still isn't ready.

Just added another set of 10 ballpark files. This time, I used the really nice ballpark paintings that BeachBoy is hosting at his site. I'm really happy with these ballparks. When playing historical associations, these paintings work perfectly with the game.

Padres:

Awesome work. How current is your 2006 Association going to be?

Thanks.

KG Erwin -> RE: PadresFan's Website Update Thread (6/5/2006 6:53:07 PM)

Al, those "painted" ballparks are the ultimate. Love 'em. [&o]

Some others exist, but unfortunately the perspectives are skewed, and don't work well with the game.

To what detail does this file hold? Full minors? Ballparks and Logos assigned?

Are we looking at within a week? Or longer?

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Website Update Thread (6/6/2006 1:08:17 AM)

Regarding the 2006 Association file.... I'm honestly not sure. A friend of mine is doing the work, and as soon as I know the answers to what's included and when it will be available, I'll pass on the word.

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Website Update Thread (6/6/2006 1:11:25 AM)

Ok, a couple more little changes to the files on the website today.

Thanks to BeachBoy23's excellent website, I have been able to produce new versions of some ballpark files with better photos.

1) The 2006 MLB Ballparks file has been updated to v2. It includes an improved version of US Cellular Field.

2) The 1980's MLB Ballparks file has been updated to v2. It includes improved versions of Milwaukee County Stadium, Oakland Coliseum, Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, Angels Stadium, and Arlington Stadium.

Thanks again to BeachBoy23!!!!

I use 'em. I think they work perfectly. Each is different. I especially like Crosley.

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Website Update Thread (6/12/2006 9:20:43 AM)

Hey everyone, as you may have seen mentioned in the main forum, I posted a new PSA file tonight called "The Championship Challenge".  It pits 20 past World Series winners against each other in a 162 game fight to the finish.

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Website Update Thread (6/25/2006 3:49:59 AM)

Just posted a 2006 Opening Day Roster Template. Here's the deal:

- Rosters as accurate as I could get them for opening day 2006
- 35 man rosters only, no multiple levels of minors
- Finances are disabled. My apologies in advance. And no, no plans to make another version with finances enabled.
- No stadium images included in this template, I figured you could get them from the other part of the website.
- Some of the logos used are a couple of years old, sorry about that.

Al

UPDATE: My Web Server is acting up... It may be a few hours before the file is available...

ffp7175 -> RE: PadresFan's Website Update Thread (6/25/2006 8:35:27 AM)

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Website Update Thread (6/30/2006 1:31:51 AM)

Ok, another new posting today. As I mentioned in the other thread, I've created a fictional logo set. Here's the URL again:

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Website Update Thread (6/30/2006 1:52:39 AM)

And another update...

I've posted another fictional logo set by community member Nomo Ootp. His archive contains over 700 fictional logos...

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Website Update Thread (6/30/2006 8:17:46 AM)

And yet another update tonight. I needed to create some fictional stadiums for me new association, so I grabbed some photos of minor league ballparks off the net. I've posted the images to my website in case anyone else wants to use some "anonymous" looking images for their fictional leagues.

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Mod Website Update Thread (7/3/2006 4:37:30 AM)

I'm VERY pleased to announce the availability of the WrightWing Historical Face Pack to the PureSim Mod website.

http://web.mac.com/sixwilsons/iWeb/PureSimMods/Main.html

I need to thank Steve (Nomo Ootp) for pointing this OOTP facepack collection out to me, and I need to thank the author of the set (Wright Wing) for allowing me to convert it for the PureSim community. He's a very cool dude and very generous with his time and efforts. It's taken him months to collect the over 12,000 images, but it only took me about an hour to convert them all and post them!

I do have one worry though. The file is almost 100MB, and I have a bandwidth limit of 1GB of traffic each two week period starting on the 1st and 15th of every month. I've come close (within a day or two) to exceeding this quota for the past 2 months, and I can see that the availability of this file may just put me over the edge this month. It's not that big of a deal for me, as it just means that the site will be unavailable until the next 1st or 15th comes up, I don't get charged extra or anything. We'll see... Depending on how sales of the game go, maybe I'll just pay for some more bandwidth and ask Shaun for a T-Shirt or something.

Anyway, I think all of you historical players will love this set. It's easily the most comprehensive set to date and really helps with the immersion factor. Here's what the author had to say about the face pack over on the OOTP forums:

12,011 players in JPG format listed by debut year (1871-2005) broken down by decade.

1870s 265 Players 100 career G/IP
1880s 555 Players 100
1890s 430 Players 100
1900s 675 Players 50 career G/IP
1910s 854 Players 50
1920s 631 Players 50
1930s 655 Players 50
1940s 749 Players 50
1950s 802 Players 25 career G/IP
1960s 1027 Players 25
1970s 1080 Players 25
1980s 1225 Players 25
1990s 1876 Players 1 career G/IP
2000s 1187 Players 1

I also need to give a gigantic thank-you to OOTP member Vholes for his contribution of his unreleased 19th Century facepack to include in mine. There are about 500 images that came from him and he gave me a big shot in the arm at a time I really needed it to continue. Thanks V.

I also want to give a public okay to anyone who would wish to use any of these images for any project in the future. They are not "mine", I just collected them. I consider them "public domain", so enjoy. My Yahoo Photos page should be updated within a week or so for those who may use it from time to time.

I don't know where I will go from here with this project. Players are getting harder to come by, and quality images are getting even harder to find. Whether or not there is an update in the future, I hope people will enjoy their usage in the game...

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Mod Website Update Thread (7/3/2006 11:19:39 AM)

New addition tonight, a new template file for a 24 team fictional association complete with logos and ballparks.

The North American Baseball League Association or NAMBLA for short. If you watch South Park or the Daily Show, you'll get the humor in the name.... [:)]

Enjoy!

rasnell -> RE: PadresFan's Mod Website Update Thread (7/4/2006 1:09:48 AM)

PadresFan or anyone else, could you help me with photos and logos that I already have. Just a basic primer on how to get these to work and where to load them...

rasnell -> RE: PadresFan's Mod Website Update Thread (7/6/2006 12:05:10 PM)

Just wanted to thank you for your mods and your Web site. Really adds a lot to these games with the logos, ballparks and more. Got everything working, now that I've figured it out. Actually quite simple once you learn it.

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Mod Website Update Thread (7/11/2006 5:24:44 AM)

Added a couple of files from community members tonight.

1) KG Erwins 1964 MLB Template

2) Jon Connor's Ballpark Files

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Mod Website Update Thread (7/14/2006 5:12:39 AM)

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Mod Website Update Thread (7/15/2006 7:58:28 PM)

2 additions to the Odd's and End's page today... (I think a revamping of the site with a "Skinning" page is probably in order...

1) There are now 3 alternate DraftRoster screens courtesy of SittingDuck

2) Sitting Duck also created some main menu buttons to go with two of PanzerEast's skins.

Over 6700 hits and counting!

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Mod Website Update Thread (7/20/2006 2:02:41 AM)

Now over 7000 hits... [:)]

Wanted to let folks know that the link to the huge 99MB facepack is now fixed...

PadresFan104 -> RE: PadresFan's Mod Website Update Thread (7/22/2006 1:54:25 AM)

An update and two new additions for the weekend:

1) I updated the 2006 Ballparks Collection. Once I took a look at the chart at retrosheet.org, I realized some of my deep fly ball ball-flight settings were too deep. I went through and cleaned all the flight paths so it should play a bit better now.

2) I created a new template, based off of the one that comes with the game for playing in MLB cities with fictional players. I changed the team names to be real vs. fictional, I assigned the right ballparks for each team (with the changes mentioned above), and I assigned logos to each team.

3) I added Abevs latest addin to the Odd's and End's page
