Deltadog -> 2 questions (6/7/2006 5:28:43 AM)

1. Is there some documentation that explains the following:

Configure PSPNCast>Adjust Ball Flight locations.

There are many locations shown. I assume that if one begins with say 7, that means left field, but the letters and or numbers that follows the first does not appear to relate to anything in particular. (7, 7L, 7LD, 7LDF, etc.)

2. It appears that the games can be played in the following modes.

Manage
Quick Sim
Watch PSPNCast

Under Watch PSPNCast you run the game similar to manage, or can run to a specific sport in the game in what appears to be a slow sim mode. What this appears to boil down to is Watch, slow sim and fast sim.

Some games such as the FBpro and BBpro apparently used differant engines to play out a game in essentially this three modes. The result was that the results might vary greatly depending on which mode were used.

Question-Does this game use different sim engines for these modes or the same one. If one game were played and all the variables were the same would the three modes result in similar results?

Thanks

An educated guess on the ball flight locations, but here's my take:

1-9 - Standard baseball position numbers
If two numbers appear, it is between those two numbers (78 is Left Center)

which are modified by the letter codes as follows

D - deep
F - foul
L - along the foul line
M - middle ? (it only appears up the middle between second and short)
S - shallow
XD - extra deep

so 7LD would be a ball hit deep down the line in left (but fair, since it does not have the "F").

AngryTree

I appreciate the information you provided. I assume then a fly out to extra deep left field and a home run to that same general area would both follow the same path. By the same token a ground ball, line drive, and single through or pop fly to the short stop would also follow the same basic path to the same location on the field.

I guess no one know about the sim engine. It was hoped that if no one else knew, the developer would answer this question. When you are playing out a season, you would like to know if games run using the various methods should yield comprabale results. If not all games should be run using the same method.

I think this might help.

Thanks the helps a great deal.

That grid helps a great deal, I just need to figure out why some of my home runs barely get out if the infield, and fall WAY short of the fence.

Thanks!
