Thank you Korp, for showing me what our little friend said. Point of Historical Knowledge: The US MArine Corps formed a paratroop force in anticipation of using it in the Pacific, but decided against it for various reasons. One of those was the inherent danger to the troops lives dropping into the dense jungle on much of the islands they would be fighting on. Consequently, the Paramarines never jumped in combat. But they operated as regular Marines during the war, assaulting the beaches of those islands.
