Sleazey -> Feature Request/Bug Fix (6/9/2006 11:26:16 PM)

Problem:
Changes to unit values are displayed on the unit counter on the game board, but not in the 3d unit window at upper right.

Proposed Fix:
In general, any changes to the unit counter displayed on the gameboard should also be made to the unit counter in the 3D unit window.

Explanation and Motivation:
Thanks to the nice tutorial, I have started using the hotkeys, particularly the Numpad +, the D key, and the L key.

One thing I have noticed when using the D & L keys, is that the unit counter in the upper right corner 3D unit window does not change its values when I update the unit via the hotkeys, while the counter on the gameboard does get changed.

I like to use the Numpad + key to step thru all the units, and I keep my eye on the unit counter in the 3d unit window, looking for units that are set to the wrong Loss tolerance. When I hit L to bump up the loss tolerance (the 1 to 3 dots on the left side of the unit counter), they change on the gameboard but not in the 3d window.

This also applies to the D key and the current Entrenched/Dugin/Fortified values. It may apply to other values displayed on the counter.

Is that possible to fix?

With respect to the D key, you would not see it update the unit anyway, unless it's the very last unit which can act, since the D key digs in, and then goes to the next unit which can act. However, nice suggestion for consistency's sake. Thanks.

Moving this to support.

In the Battle Planner or Combat Planner, when you click on an aircraft to commit it to the attack, the little "s" that stands for combat support dissappears and a white triangle appears to show that the aircraft is no longer in general combat support use but is committed to this one attack, I understand that. But when you click on the aircraft again, the "s" reappears and the aircraft is available for combat support again.

Now, when you click on one of the HQ units the "t" that stands for tactical reserve dissappears and a white triangle appears. But if you click on that HQ unit again to deselect it, the 't' doesn't reappear....you gotta get outta battle planner and hunt that critter down and re-do it's "t" status manually.

It would be really great if the HQ units were more like the aircraft in that they could be committed and uncommitted to a battle without loosing their tactical reserve status.

Is that possible in some future release?

This is the battle planner pane that I'm talking about:
