Since the release of H3 the Harpoon community has grown and to cater for various tastes there are now more third party db option than ever before. In addition to DB2000 the HHQ now host the Colonial Wars DB covering the period after the Second World War through to the mid sixties. Bridging the gap between the Colonial Wars db and DB2000 is the DB1965-79. The most recent database added to the HHQ lineup is WWII DB. Lovingly crafted (how could creating a WWII db for a game intented for missile warfare be anything but a labour of love) this db should really have its chance to shine with ANW in the future. You can have a look at the platfroms found in the various databases via the database encyclopedia Of course we should all remember that the strength of the Harpoon series has always been the community that has grown around it. It is the community that develops these databases and the community that writes scenarios for them. The evolution of both Harpoon 3ANW and the still to come Commander Edition would never have happened without the community support and now with this release we will have the oportunity to welcome back old pooners and new. I just hope that everybody will think just as much about what they can give back to the community as they think about what it owes them. cheers Daniel

We should ask for a sticky with the links to sites that cover Harpoon. The ANW credits acknowledge Harpoon HQ (www.harpoonhq.com) and "The Harpoon Section at Strategy Zone Online" (http://www.xtreme-gamer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=186) as "Rabid fan sites" [:)]. Maybe we should start here, and add others as they appear or are discovered.

[&o][&o][&o][&o][&o][&o][&o] I haven't been able to get to the game yet today, but I was able to read a lot of the rules and I'm really warming up to Harpoon again after being away for such a long time. In spite of having just picked up TOAW3 and COTA, I'm going to dive into H3ANW and try out some of those databases and scenarios. I'll post any compatibility/non-compatibility results. UPDATE: With some head scratching I figured out how to create new folders for the databases and where to put what and was able to play a couple of them to make sure they worked.
