And then there's Eric, with his Draka(60's technology in the 40's) and me with my Atlanteans, (480mm ship guns, SAMs in 1943, rocket firing tanks, ATRLs in 1938, close combat with swords.) If we're not careful, this thing could spin out of control. troopie ------------------ Pamwe Chete

Well, since SPWAW is using the SP3 engine, helicopters are already in the game. I don't think they have done anything to change them, so you could put them in with no problems. Just use the oob editor and play around with all that stuff. I don't know about the other modern classes that are being used by SPWAW. They may be untouched, or they could be totally changed. If helicopters still work as they are supposed to, then maybe we could toss that early Navy helicopter into the Marine oob? Just for scenarios I guess.

Woohoo! Sword and blaster meets WWII! Sounds fun. I really liked the article that Dragon (?) ran way back in the early 80's about WWII vs. D&D. I think I'd rather get everything real first, though.

I think the only helo class left is the transport, not sure how that one works either, would have to play around with it a little. Not sure which oob I'll use for them either yet, would have to be one that doesn't get favorable use? I'm at the moment just drawing up designs for the vehicles, and getting ideas for weapons etc., still got alot of icons, and oob work to do for SPWAW first though, so this is a "spare time" work! Sounds like quite a few folk would be interested though, I found it nice diversionary fun, now it will be even better!! ------------------ Mike Amos Meine Ehre Heisst Treue

The Atlanteans didn't use blasters, they used a local copy of the M-1 rifle, and later in WW2 they used assault rifles. All rocket tanks were phased out in the late '40s. Three military reforms tried to get them to give up the sword, but this is a semi-feudal dueling culture, and a soldier is a warrior, and warriors wear swords. There are some modern units in my Green SP2 mob. (Available from TGN) BTW they are the only nation ever to have used hydrogen bombs in war. troopie (except for the Green SP2 note, all the above is fiction. But will be in an SP game, if I can find the time.) ------------------ Pamwe Chete

I don't know about helicopters, but I do know that the ATGM's still work (at least they did before I applied the last patch.) I tried a little experiment just for giggles. I pitted 4 Chicom HaGo's (sp?) armed with "TOW" missiles against 6 KV1's. I quickly learned the importance of experience ratings, as the KVs wiped out the missile armed tanks without loss. It seems I forgot to change the skill and experience ratings of the Chicom crews, so the 99% hit chance of the missiles became 11% in the hands of their inept users. ------------------ Billy Yank I don't define "my own" the way you want me to.

I would like it too, along with fighters that could appear to attack bombers, kind of an op fire situation, but none of that will make it, I fear, at least not this time.
WB: fighters attacking bombers during OP fire. sounds like a dream. Is that something u guys are working on or just on the wish list Also, how about fighters attacking fighters during OP fire. My wish during the sp2ww2/spww2 days were arming the spotter planes with a pistol or even arming them with machine guns ala WWI and have a brand new game come out simulating WWI aerial dogfights.. how about that for going off on a tangent.
