KG Erwin -> Help! -- Need A Couple of Park Files (7/8/2006 10:22:21 PM)

I'm putting together a Historical Career Template for 1964 -- that was a fantastic season, with down-to-the-wire three-team pennant races in both leagues. It was also the last AL pennant for the Yankees (managed that year by Yogi Berra) until 1976.

The Cardinals won the Series that year, besting the Yankees in game 7.

However, there's a slight problem --prk files don't exist (AFAIK) for either Kansas City Municipal Stadium (in '64 the home of the Athletics) or Colt Stadium. The Astrodome didn't open until 1965, and the Houston team was still called the Colt 45s.

Many of the old classic parks were still in existence, and the age of the "cookie-cutter" stadiums hadn't yet arrived.

I e-mailed Padres Fan, but it appears that these two are not in any of his Ballpark Files.

I could use some help on this, if one of you would like to pitch in and create them.

I'd love to create these ballparks if I just had the photo or scanned painting or graphic image...

I found this in one of my ballpark directories.

Which one is this, ganguy?

Sometime else I found -- proper park dimensions for these DO exist inside as pre-built Pure Sim parks, but no pics are there. That helps.

My guess would be KC. IIRC Colt Stadium had OF bleachers.

Sorry, guys. Yes, it is KC Municipal.

I am working on Colt Stadium. I have a black and white shot that I'm trying to make usable with Photoshop. Give me a little time.

Thanks, Ron. You're creating something we didn't have, and this project will see the light of day after all. [&o]

Here is a black and white of Colt Stadium, followed by a color drawing that I came across a long time ago,

Deltadog -> RE: Help! -- Need A Couple of Park Files (7/9/2006 5:32:58 PM)

Kansas City Municipal Stadium appears to be in one of the stadium folders on one of the two main sites and a picture of the that stadium is in on of the other sites. Unless there were two stadiums by that name and the one I got from these sources is later or earlier version.

Cool, I should be able to post these two new parks to my website later today.

KG - These two parks are now on my website. Go to the ballparks page and look towards the bottom. I created a new Misc. download.
