Martiallaw -> "Crown of Glory": Does the game have music? (7/17/2006 8:05:57 PM)

Hi,

Thinking to buy "Crown of Glory" these days. Just wish to know if the game has any background music as "World at War" has? Also has the game any expansion or is there another similar game by Matrix covering Napoleon? Please inform. Thanks[:)]

Yes the game has background music.  I highly recommend getting the game!

Battles of Napoleon and Empire in Arms are both napoleonic games that are in production.

And 'Campaigns on the Danube' is already available, although it is not a 'similar'game to Crown of Glory.

The music in Crown of Glory is very nice. For about half-an-hour. Then you'll never want to hear it again. [:D] No expansion (how would you expand it?) but an American Civil War game using the engine is on the way.

This was a recent reply from the COG forum moderator when the possibility of an expansion was discussed:

"This (I mean historical battles and a map editor, direct head-to-head detailed combat) and the naval-thing are our two favorite ideas for expansion packs. Here's hoping that COG does well enough in retail sales to warrant some expansions!"

I like CoG's music a lot... but you should hear the soundtrack so far on Forge of Freedom!  Top notch.

Crown of Glory has both period music (specially recorded for us, rather than taken from some scratchy 1920's photograph record that is past copyright protection!) and more modern, dramatic music supplied by the good folks at Matrix. Also, in the COG forum you can find an early discussion with specific instructions on how to add your own selection of music if that's your preference. Thus you can play Gwen Stefani or Julio Iglesias or even Kenny G while you invade Prussia -- whatever you do in the privacy of your own home is none of our business.

As for an expansion pack, this has certainly been considered -- but, as Eric, the creator and programmer of the game, has written elsewhere on the forum, this would largely depend on the volume of sales of the existing game (including the sales of the localized versions recently released).
