Nomo Ootp -> Home Regions... Team Regions... (7/18/2006 1:42:11 AM)

Is there a way to change the regions database in game. I want to play a fictional league with fictional cities. I see the regions database in the MDB files in the lahmans and believe this is for the players being imported to historical leagues. Could I create a dummy database in lahman format with all fictional players, cities and teams and then import it as a historical league with yearly updates? Also if I add a region to the ingame regions screen does this new region become available for all associations or just the one I created it for?

When you create teams and pick the region the team is from, there is a button there to add new regions.

Sorry, I misread your question. Not sure if you can do that or not.

It's been a little bit of the blind leading the blind around here lately.  I'd like the new folks to know that it's a bit unusual for Shaun to be so quiet without some sort of advanced notice for vacation and business trips.

However, it bears noting that he has "another" full time job and a family, so I like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he is just very busy with that stuff and maybe even coding cool new features into the game....

I gotta wonder if thats a big turnoff to some people. This board can be dead at times, for long periods. People come in and ask questions and never get a response, people surf the web and find something else to do.

I wish there was someway we could get more experts on hand to help with technical and non technical questions.

Yeah.. I hear you. I'm bummed that I can't help with the more technical questions for sure and would like Shaun to be more active at times like these when we have the influx of new users.

EDIT: Just looked at the support forums... Shaun is active tonight... [:)]

You can create and edit new regions from the "Edit Regions/Finances" dialog on the team page, that is currently the extent of the support there. The Lahaman regions you are seeing come with that database and PureSim does respect them.

Apologies guys, real life / job has currently presented some things I need to deal with and my board time has been limited. That said I have continued to code and the 1.20 official release should be out tonight.

I think the board is actually becoming pretty self-sustained, so hopefully when I duck out on ocassion things will flow fine. I do try and hit the support forum daily.

Abev -> RE: Home Regions... Team Regions... (7/19/2006 6:52:00 AM)

I just wish there was a way we could get official support from someone, not necessarily 'shaun', but someone with an official capacity, maybe extensive knowledge of the game to be able to respond. Of course the later may only rest with one person.

For the time being the lurkers can handle it. But when this game blows up we gotta be ready :)
