Rainbow7 -> Can someone explain how this happened? (7/18/2006 7:07:21 AM) This is part of the log from a game I recently watched. I believe the misleading part is the PBP indicates that Ty Cobb grounded out, but it was a fielder's choice, force out at 2nd (6-4) and Cobb would be safe at first. The fielder chose to get the runner going to second rather than the hitter. Thus it is said that the batter reached on a fielders choice.
