Dragoon 45 -> Some joys of the Forum (7/19/2006 2:05:44 AM)

I along with many others have had disagreements with others on the forums. I hope I have handled the presentation of my side of the disagreements with tact and diplomacy. But I have enjoyed the give and take on the Forum greatly. One of the strengths of this game and the gamers involved in it I believe is the give and take on this forum and others. The cross pollination of ideas from one gamer to another I believe is one of the great strengths of this game. I don't believe we will ever see a complete agreement on any aspect of the game, but in the give and take where ideas are debated has certainly increased my knowledge of the historical period and also of the game itself.

This game I believe will die when the gamers involved stop debating and exchanging ideas. So I welcome the continuing debate here and also in other forums. I might not agree with an idea or position, but in order to address the other side I am forced to do research which increases my knowledge base. I know there are some people who will not let an argument go, and I hope I am not one of them. But I would also ask others to not let that sour them on the forums. This is one of the best places on the web that I know of for debate on this game and the historical period and I for one hope it stays strong and vibrant for years to come.

This game, I believe, will die soon... ! As soon as SP 4 hits the store shelves! [:D]
For the rest of your post? Nothing more to say than words of approbation.

well said Dragoon

Gloo, the game will not die "soon"
Even if there were to be a new game, it would be most likey be 2 years in the making, more or less.
look how long C.L went on, then was shelved.
SPWAW itself took a long time, i dont recall exactly how long, but it was in developement for long time.
either way, SPWAW will be around for some time yet...

I know [:)]
I meant that it should die if SP4 appears to be as good as we all expect it to be. Either way and no matter how good SP4 may be, I'm pretty sure there will always be people, here and there, to continue on playing SP series, from SP 1 to WaW! I personaly made another "fresh install" of SP1 last year [:D]

Frankly, I dearly hope SP 4 will be a whole SP series killer!!!

One of the biggest smiles goes out from here,  because we get a reaally good ferquincy of appearances by the actual HEADS of matrix on this forum and they listen and service our individual players requests with an attitude of genuine concern. ASK ANY of the bigger game producing companies to try that and it costs a fortune, IF and again I say IF any of their directors or programmers are even on or paying attention to their internet sites in the first place??? just for giggles DO any of u know any of the names of the  senior heads of  EA games ?? and have u ever, ever chewed the fat with them personally on ANY forum???? Basically you're right Riun T but there's always been exceptions. I think about some executives from Origins, Blue bytes or Bethesda softworks, who used to pay attention to their customers voice. I can tell for sure that, sometimes, some persons of influence are lurking on the fora but, as most of us do, they use avatars and nicknames. But you're right and most of the ones who are supposed to create games for the masses, simply ignore what the crowd has to say. The same attitude goes with politics. I suppose it has to do with our cultural behaviours. When you become part of a so called elite, you tend to forget where you come from, who helped you to get there and how it happened [:D]

...and almost without fail all those other game firms sell out to toy companies and try to market to 10 year old little girls at Toys R us, to die a quick death.....................(Emphasis is on "sell out".........)
