Sorry for all the questions tonight.......I thought if you just renamed a txt file to end in .csv it would work in puresim, but I can't seem to get it right. I have a 1987 txt ootp schedule, but can't get it to import because it's not a .csv, can someone tell me how to conver it?

Nope, doesn't work. I tried that. I could have swore in the past, I just added .csv to the name and it changed to the correct format, but no dice this time. [:(]

not exactly sure what the file looks like, but sometime on winxp when you just rename it renames it to something like schedule.txt.csv. Make sure you open it then save as all files and change the ext to csv.

No dice on that either........thanks for the advice though.

Just open the file in Excel, any version, or Open Office (which is a free download) and save the file as an csv file.  You can also open the file in excel put it text to columns to make any changes and then save as a csv file as long as you select the comma as the delimiter.

Actually, the game accepts .txt schedules. When you go to load, change the file type (located below the file name) so the window will see the .txt files. Works like a charm for me.

Can you post a link to the schedule you are trying to import? Also, what is the exact configuration of your association?

I'lll give it a shot.

Here's where you can d/l the 1987 schedule .csv : http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/board/attachment.php?attachmentid=19306&d=1103858928

I saved the link to the thread, which contains OOTP historical schedules from 1901-2005 :

The only catch is, I think your Pure Sim league setup must match the listings in the OOTP schedule file (by league/division and alphabetically by city).

I have a 55-man roster 1946 real player draft league just starting, and I successfully imported the OOTP 1946 schedule for it.

I did a replay association of 1987, no changes. The file I downloaded was here: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/board/showthread.php?p=716634#post716634

I would suppose the above csv would work. I swear I used to just add .csv to ootp schedule txt files, and it would work fine. I tried all of the above, and nothing worked, not even opening it in Microsoft Excel. I got some kind weird message when I did, then when I converted it, the game told me it was not the right format.

And I have a winner! Tried it, and it worked. Thanks, appreciate the tip.

You are quite welcome [:)]

These .txt documents are also editable if you want to use historically accurate schedules. If you're interested, I can explain how to do this.

AFAIK, the schedules are already accurate, but, as I mentioned in an above post, the teams must be listed in your league as they are in the schedule format. For 1946, as an example, team 1 must be the Boston Red Sox, with all teams listed alphabetically in each league (team 16 is the St Louis Cardinals).

This approach worked fine for me.
