Get A Taste Of A Baseball Fan’s Fantasy – Batter Up!

Matrix Games, in association with PureSim (www.puresim.com) is pleased to announce that the v1.20 update for the full version of PureSim Baseball 2007 is now also available at the Matrix Games site.

The v1.20 update for the full version of PureSim Baseball 2007 is a major update. In addition to resolving a number of minor issues, this update adds support for Internet Explorer 7, Multi-base throwing errors, improved management AI, and improved time period specific pitcher usage. In addition, there is a new Player Affinity mode, which will make teams highly likely to try and keep their makeup similar to what it was in real life. These changes combine to increase the historical feel of the game. The new update for PureSim Baseball 2007 has over 50 different tweaks and fixes that truly enhance both the game-play and the visual experience. The only thing missing is the random celebrity throwing out the first pitch! “PLAY BALL!”

PureSim Baseball 2007 uses an automatically-generated dream almanac containing thousands of pages of detailed stats on players and team histories. Directly integrated into the game, it uses standard HTML formatting which allows it to be published onto the web. The Lahman database is fully licensed and integrated into PureSim Baseball 2007, making it easier than ever to play with historical players and teams from 1900 to 2005! PureSim Baseball 2007 includes multiple levels of minors (A, AA, AAA), flexibility in allowing players to simulate any Major League season from 1900 to 2005. The game's unique player aging system, completely customizable parks and leagues, and the ability to edit any aspect of any detail found within the game all round out a sharper, quicker, and more intense baseball simulation.

Digital downloads as well as boxed copies of PureSim Baseball 2007 are now available at the Matrix Games Online Store. Download it today and finally feel as close to the action as you can get without actually buying season tickets!

Since Matrix seems to like to make us work for our patches, I've copied the link here:

verizon32 -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 7:56:35 AM)

Is there a list of changes from Beta 1.19 to the Update 1.20?

Claymore Cut -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 8:10:34 AM)

yep, patch changes would be nice...

PadresFan104 -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 8:29:21 AM)

Unfortunately, the Readme only has the complete list of changes from 1.10.  I'd be surprised if Shaun didn't make some final tweaks between the last beta patch and the final, so yes, it would be nice to know.  Personally, I'd like to know if the bug with the 2-base throwing error was addressed, as well as the wonky fly-out distances.

looneyluden -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 9:19:52 AM)

Thanks for the great follow on support of this game puresimmer. I just dl'd the new version and am heading to the ballpark to manage a game...I believe the Orlando Sunrays are playing my Tucson Drifters tonight :)

akcranker -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 11:19:28 AM)

Has anyone else loaded this new update yet?  I installed it and then clicked on my Puresim 2007 icon and the screen with the game manual and forums and other links popped up.  I clicked Play and Puresim never opens.  I checked my processes and saw that Puresim is running but it never pops up.

jono -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 11:28:45 AM)

Having the same problem.

motnahp -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 1:05:16 PM)

Whew! Glad I was at work and unable to d-load. Now I'll wait and stick with 1.19 until this is resolved[8D].

sposfan -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 2:14:13 PM)

hmm, seems to work on mine, but I'd like to know if it shows somewhere which version we're running. Coulda sworn it used to show on the main menu screen, but it doesn't now.

puresimmer -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 2:45:05 PM)

OK, as for the changes there were a few more minor fixes since the last beta.

Also the version number is displayed in the lower right corner of the main game screen and should read "v1.20 Official Release"

As for this problem with folks launching the game and not seeing it run, I can't duplicate this. Can you guys try a few things:

- Reboot
- Make sure you are up to date with the latest Windows updates
- If that doesn't work can you be sure to disable any antivirus software and launch the game again, just to make sure there is not some sort of conflict.

If none of that works I have posted a debug version of the game here:

http://www.psmultiplayer.150m.com/puresim2k7_v120_Debug.zip

- Unzip the exe in that zip file and copy it into your PureSim2007 folder. It could possibly give us more information on the issue (though I am not super-confident it will)

SittingDuck -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 4:04:45 PM)

Shaun, I corrected my load-but-no-see issue.  I had to update Windows XP to SP2 and d/l about 21 Windows updates.  Then v1.19 fired up promptly.

verizon32 -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 4:31:25 PM)

It loads fine for me 1.20 update. I load the Puresim icon and hit play and it opens fine. I have Window xp.

I installed Puresim 2007 1.0 version, then 1.10, then 1.19 beta and finally 1.20 update.

Not sure if the order matters.

PadresFan104 -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 5:15:19 PM)

I went from 1.18 beta to 1.20 with no problem.

akw4572 -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 5:32:34 PM)

No problems here either.  Just wondering, should my assoc. have to be "updated" from 1.19 to 1.20?  When I opened my assoc., it just loaded regularly.

Deltadog -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 6:39:05 PM)

I downloaded and installed v1.20 without a hitch.  The game loaded and ran without any problem.  The issue with the black screen when trying to set up stadiums for PSPN Cast appears to have been fixed.  However the problem with some flyballs with "0" distance still is present.

PadresFan104 -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 6:46:34 PM)

Delta - that's so odd, as I've never seen that issue even once...

Rainbow7 -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 7:13:03 PM)

Yeah, I've seen the '0 distance' many times.

HangingSlider -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 7:44:03 PM)

I'm a newbie here having just purchased the game during the recent sale.

I'm a little confused about how to apply patches...
Do I install game first, then patch 1.10, and then 1.20 ?
And where can I find patch 1.10 ?

Thanks

middlega -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 8:03:38 PM)

Those who have had the "run but no see" issue like I did might doublecheck to make sure WinXP Service Pack 2 has been installed. That appears to have solved the problem for me, of course YMMV.

SittingDuck -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 9:49:55 PM)

Agreed, as I stated earlier, that also fixed it for me, too.  And now I am glad I am at SP2 for various reasons.

I am not sure, but I think all you have to do is install the game and then the latest patch, that being v1.20.  Someone correct me if I am wrong.  And if you already have a previous patch installed, just install over your current configuration.

Actually, since I have so much modded in mine right now (about half of the html screens!), I install to a stand-alone folder and dissect to see what I have to pull out of my modded stuff and save and then reinstall.

Install the game and then install 1.20. The way shaun does updates is that they are all inclusive. IIRC, all updates are basically complete new installs of the game; they dont update files, its just a replacement.

scott32671 -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 10:20:50 PM)

maybe a repeat question, but i just downloaded the game last month, do i just have to download the patch, and i do have SP2.

SittingDuck -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/19/2006 10:23:33 PM)

Qui.  Or, yes.  v1.2 patch and SP2 running on your machinio.

sposfan -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/20/2006 12:04:30 AM)

akw,

come to think of it, mine was the same thing. Usually I get a pop up saying please wait while the association is upgraded or something like that, this time nothing. I also do not see a version number on the main screen (supposed to be on bottom right). Do you have that too?

puresimmer -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/20/2006 2:14:56 AM)

Note, that not all patches require changes to the core game database, so it is not somethign you will see every time.

Woodruff -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/20/2006 2:56:27 AM)

Thank you for the link, PadresFan!

Why does MatrixGames make it so bloody hard to find the patches?

Geez...painful.

akcranker -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/20/2006 3:42:18 AM)

I"m not at home right now but I was in the process of installing SP2 when I left for work this morning.  Hopefully it fixes my problem like it did for others.  I strayed away from SP2 for various reasons.  It conflicted with some of my programs and had some issues early on that I didn't want to deal with.  But now that my Puresim is not working.. well I have to bite the bullet and install it and correct any conflicts later.

I'll post when I get home if it fixed my problem or not.

SittingDuck -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/20/2006 3:58:19 AM)

I held off on SP2 for the same reasons, generally.  However, that was some time ago and they have resolved much of it.  I have yet to find a conflict.  So I think you should be gtg.

JMAV -> RE: PureSim Baseball 2007 v1.20 Update Now Available! (7/20/2006 6:47:17 AM)

So, basically, unless you upgrade to SP2 then you are screwed, correct? There is no way to have this run in XP?

I updated all recent windows downloads, disabled all virus control, rebooted, still having same problem as others listed above...

Any advice...I really don't want to change from XP and feel as though I shouldn't have to...
