Newer players gotta realize that the ballpark configurations and the weather both play a big part in affecting stats.
This is especially true if you set up a historical replay association and elect to use the generic Pure Sim park for all teams.
As for me, well, I love those quirky classic parks. The Polo Grounds, with its weird bathtub shape, is maybe the most extreme example, but the Pirates' Forbes Field (1909-1970) is a favorite. NO no-hitters were ever pitched there, so strong defense is a must.
This is the beauty of using real parks, and tailoring your team to make the most of the playing environment.
