Shaun, is it possible to come up with a new formula for league MVP's
other that the RBI leader?

Adding a milestone comment for Triple Crown winners who also be appreciated.

I would also like to see LCS & World Series MVP's named as well.

thanks for your consideration.
great game.

If that's what decides MVP, then there really should be somethign else.  I've wondered because I've had guys when the MVP on my team who I didn't feel were the MVP of my own team.  Why not use a Bill James formula of some sort?  Some Sabermetric formula?

We've talked years ago about revealing some XML parameters so everyone could tweak their own awards criteria.

Makes sense when you consider how it is such a debated thing IRL.  I mean, who debates whether a ball cleared a fence or not?  But an award is very different.

Along with this, I'd like to see the user get to choose the Hall of Fame.

I can tell you that the RBI leader doesn't always win nor does the ERA leader always win the Cy Young award.  However, I think it should take into account team performance more.

Well, I was going to make the reference, but I can't tell you how much I never want to hear about that stuff ever again.

I would absolutely love to be able to choose the criteria for the awards, as I rarely agree with the results in the game or in real life. To me, the MVP should be the best combination of games played and RC. I wouldn't take team performance into account at all. And as for the Best Pitcher award, I would give that to the pitcher who lowers the league ERA the most. I feel that's a good way to take into account both ERA and innings pitched, so that a pitcher with a ton of IP could win it even if his ERA was a little higher than some other pitcher who just wasn't out there quite as much. I'd have the rookie versions decided this same way, though therew ould be paramaters on rookies so that someone with a September callup could still be a rookie the next year.
Don't even get me started on the Hall of Fame. It would be much different - I feel that most people that the game elects are merely the sorts of players who should have their numbers retired by their teams. The HOF needs to be a little more special IMO.
