SittingDuck -> Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/28/2006 3:56:36 AM)

I'd like to get ahold of the facepack and post it on my Rapidshare account. The link for it (I guess Shaun's account) is now dead.

So if you have it and want to post it up somewhere, please do so. I will then d/l it and post it to my Rapidshare account. I think we need to have a few links for that, considering the size of it.

PadresFan104 -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/28/2006 4:58:32 AM)

Dammit, didn't realize that the link was dead from my site!! [:@]  I'll talk to Shaun and see what he suggests.

SittingDuck -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/28/2006 5:21:18 AM)

So, is that your site - the psmultiplayer.com or whatever?

PadresFan104 -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/28/2006 5:47:35 AM)

No, but I was linking to it from my site.

Deltadog -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/28/2006 5:56:42 AM)

The link from your site appears to be working at the time of this post. The face pack is downloading as i write.[:)]

PadresFan104 -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/28/2006 6:43:56 AM)

Really????  When I try and download it from my own site, I just end up with a 16K file...  Delta, let me know if it really works for you.

SittingDuck -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/28/2006 3:49:28 PM)

Same here, regardless of whether I left or right-click.

What gives with that, that some can d/l and others can't?

Rapidshare!!

Deltadog -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/28/2006 5:16:38 PM)

Yes, I got a file that is 100,895 Kb in size and opens to reveal faces from 1870 until today.

SittingDuck -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/29/2006 1:14:52 AM)

Wonder if it has anything to do with Firefox? I'll check...

Nope. Something is up with that site.

Deltadog -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/29/2006 2:30:14 AM)

I just tried to download again, and it is still working for me? Since I have it, I did not let it proceed, but it starts and acts as if it is going to work fine?

PadresFan104 -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/29/2006 2:36:49 AM)

k, then I'm not going to worry about my link then...

SittingDuck -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/29/2006 3:04:08 AM)

where is your link? I am using the one from your website. I don't know of any other...

I think you have to let it proceed for a few second to check it; let it actually download a bit. IOW, my d/l stops after 242 bytes. It is just a holder file or something. It isn't the real deal.

That's the link I'm talking about. If it's working for some folks, then I'm not going to worry about it for now.

Nukester -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/29/2006 7:33:27 AM)

I just tried it (right click - save as...) and it didnt work for me. Got a very small download (like 242 KB) and when I tried to open it, it said the archive was damaged

Deltadog -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/29/2006 6:54:59 PM)

I know that several hours have passed since SittingDuck and Nukester's last post and perhaps the status of the server changes from time to time, but as sittlngDuckrequested I allowed the download to run for a longer period. If fact I downloaded it completely a 3rd time and opened it with no problem.

Not that it should matter, but I double click on the link and then click save in response to the next screen and then select where it should go and click ok.

In case it makes a differance, my connection is described by my ISP as 1.5M x 256K DSL.

Nukester -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/29/2006 8:28:57 PM)

I just tried again and still couldnt get it. If I right click and choose "save target as", I get a small 242 byte file. If I just click on the download button, I dont even get the dialog box asking me to save it, it just pops open a messagebox that says "file doesnt exist anymore or was moved to another folder"

Im using IE6 if that matters

Deltadog -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/29/2006 10:16:29 PM)

I am using IE6 also and it is still working for me?  Thought perhaps he moved it to the new server since I downloaded earlier.

SittingDuck -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/30/2006 2:03:47 AM)

For all intents and purposes, it is a broken link.  I think we just have to assume that, regardless if it works off and on for a few people.

Look, I'd like to put this on Rapidshare, but if someone doesn't get off their butt and volunteer to post it up on a temp site, then it will just be lost to the community.  This is ridiculous.  It's a huge-ass file, so Rapidshare is the way too go, IMO.  But something should be done.

akcranker -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/30/2006 2:12:12 AM)

Well since it looks like Deltadog is the only one with the file.. maybe he can up it to rapidshare and then post the link so if can be put on Padresfan's site.

I'm not at home right now and I'm not sure if I downloaded it or not.. but I'll check when I get home and if no one has upped it to Rapidshare then I'll do it...

Deltadog -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/30/2006 2:20:25 AM)

I will be happy to upload this to rapidshare, but have no idea how to do so.  I will look into it, but if anyone with experience with this site will provide directions, it will be appreciated.

Should I use Cogent, Level(3), Telia what what is he differance?

SittingDuck -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/30/2006 2:27:42 AM)

For Rapidshare, you have to have an account (money). However, there are other sites that you can post it to - I'll give you a few links in a bit.

Probably one of your best bets: http://www.megaupload.com/

I'll d/l and then upload to my Rapidshare account, and that will be good for at least a half year.

I just wanted to say that no you don't have to have an account with rapidshare. It's Free

Host your files with RapidShare FOR FREE!

But yea Megaupload is good too.

SittingDuck -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/30/2006 3:57:18 AM)

No doubt?  Free?  I thought you had to have one.... Hmmmm - well then do Megaupload or Rapidshare - whatever works best, I guess.  I'll upload just so we have multiple links available.

I also have a ton of goodies to upload later, either tonight or tomorrow.  A ton of 'em... [;)]

Deltadog -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/30/2006 4:16:01 AM)

I am uploading the file to Megaupload.com at this time. It is uploading much slower than it downloaded when I got it, so I guess that is due the speed of Megaupload. It is going to take over 2 hours. At this time there is 1 hour 28 minutes. I will advise when if completes. I assume that I will be given an address when it is finished.

SittingDuck -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/30/2006 4:20:37 AM)

Uploading goes at about 1/3 to 1/2 of downloading.  If I have a huge file, I usually do it right when I crash for the night.

KG Erwin -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/30/2006 4:53:04 AM)

The size of the photo files IS an issue. I have a set of real-faces that encompasses several different compilations, and now has some 12,000 photos.

Putting this on YouSendIt or Rapidshare would be a nightmare for anyone with less than a cable net connection.

SittingDuck -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/30/2006 5:02:24 AM)

True enough.  That is a massive file.  The face packs, when added up, are substantial.

KG Erwin -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/30/2006 5:12:15 AM)

What's going on here? Are Padres Fan's servers getting overwhelmed?   To be honest, I'd think that Al is spending a bundle to keep his site going.  This has become an essential PS support site, so we gotta keep it alive.

Be honest with us, man. What's it gonna take to keep your site online and handle the traffic?   I'm willing to make a donation if it would help.

Deltadog -> RE: Who has Wright's Facepack?? (7/30/2006 8:37:16 AM)

The upload to Megaupload ran for a little over 2 hours.  With 31 minutes left and 79.4Mb of 98.7 Mb uploaded it just stopped working.  I then tried rapidshare since Al indicated that it was free. 173 minutes later the file uploaded.  The link is shown below.  I hope for your sakes that this site downloads much faster than it accepts uploads.  When I downloaded the file, it took something like 17 minutes.  Good luck, hope you'all can get the file from here.
