Hello,
I was wondering if any of you might be able to give me some tips as how to set my aircraft production ( PDU on ) in the CHS 155 senario. I have been searching the forums and spooky's site but am having a hard time figuring it all out. I bought this game over a year ago but due to RL I havent been able to devote the time to it that it seems to need ( * blames the wife *).

Thanks.

Despitethe best efforts of CHS, nobody can change thge utter BS that is the Japanese economic system...completer garbage. Guess what I'm saying is do the same crud as one would in the stocl scenario!

I guess it all depends who do you play against. I am only casual gamer and limit myself to abusing AI. In order to win against it you probably don't have to move a finger. I tinker with production mostly because I always liked economy in games.

I change research of all types I don't like (because they are crappy aircrafts, have better counterparts, look ugly or I am just not good at using them [8|]) to the types I like.
From the beginning of the game I start the rd of:
a) Ki61I - the workhorse of the army air, can compete with allied planes and can be had quite early
b) Ki84a - 2nd generation of the army aircraft
c) N1K1 - 1st generation of the land navy aircraft that can compete with allied planes
d) A7M2 - because I like to think I will have carriers to put them on
e) B7 and D7 - see point d. They also have better durability so maybe few of them will manage to go through the allied flak.
f) I do not speed up later Zero types. AI looses all carriers quickly (before Hllcats come to play). Besides the differences between types are not so huge to justify rd.

After first generation come up I turn on N1K2 and Ki61II - although this is contardicting my standardizing efforts

I give up on the following:
a) Ki43 - during the beginning A6M2 will do all the dirty work and after mid 42 Ki61 will be ready
b) Ki44 - game parameters do not justify its production over Ki61
c) Jill - not enough value to speed it up.
d) Ki27, Ki51, Ki30, Jacks, Irvings, Ki45 (other than naight fighter), A6M8, Ki83, all transports (apart L2D2), naval recons (i keep only 2 types) - i do not even intend producing it. I keep few dozens of Ki32 Mary as it is the only type that links crappy Ki51 and Ki30 with more usefull LB branch like Ki21, Ki48, Ki67 etc. (PDU glich)
e) I do not rd Betty, Frances, Ki67 - those are offensive weapons and in the later stages of the war better fighters are priority.

Limiting number of types produced has disadvantage that you may not get all scheduled air groups. However playing against AI this is not the problem. I found multitude of air groups scarry - having less air groups I seem to be abe to better manage every one of them. And less units sits idle in Home Islands.
