Is there going to be a Matrix Games fantasy football league this year? My draft board is ready. Here's hoping I can land Larry Johnson again. And that the Black and Gold can continue their rightful dominance of the NFL.

Ahhh, We are on the same wavelength - I just got done setting them up. Se the sticky thread above.

I've made some interesting adjustments this year to the Pro league, it is weighted so the top players at each position should score ~1000 points over the year (based on 2004, 2005 and projected 2006. The "Hall of Fame" weights scoring more heavily and has more "negative" stats. The points only league ws not very popular so I caned it this year. There is also a "stock" league for purists.

While not a sanctioned Matrix league, Mad Cows Steakhouse has a league too very similar to the Pro league last year.

League ID#: 257158
League Name: MCSH League
Password: suckers

I am putting up one of my personal copies of War in the Pacific or SPWaW Generals edition (physical copies) for that one.

Hopefully some of the other Matrix staff will give it a go. [:'(]

I just joined up, hopefully I'll be able to make time for this in between diaper changings...

I've always wanted to do one of these but I never have.  If someone would be willing to help out a newbie (and I mean pre-thinking about maybe a twinkle in your great-great grandparents' eyes pre-conception yes that green newbie) I certainly would be interested.

Excellent! Erik...

Arnir - start with the "classic" league and through the total scores from 2004 and 2005 nad the projected scores for 2006 to get an idea of "who is good"

If you "do nothing" you should get an OK team - and in that league you can prioritize your "pick list" before the draft.

On draft day the Yahoo draft picker goes through each players list in the order randomly determined at the draft start, and gives you the highest player on you list still available when its your turn, when your list runs out it goes by the "stock" projected rankings. Clasis "easier" becasue it uses the "Stock" scoring criteara that the players are "generically" ranked against. In the other leagues I use more complicated scoring criterea in order to weight high end performers more equally (ion the Pro league) and to weight the offensive positions more equally (Hall of Fame league) but that requires a bit more effort "scoping out" how my scoring affects the default rankings. Those two leagues also have online drafts so you have to be online at a specific time to "get the most" out if it.

Paul, Thanks for the advice, I'll check it out.
