Hi guys, thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it! I finally figured out how to work with imageshack, so here's the aar with some nice pictures ;) Fost 1 Cobra Loose! – After Action Report Mission Objective Escort RFA Fort Victoria to NavPoint Wolf 1 until 2400 Zulu. Starting time is 1800. Fort Victoria mustn’t take more than 50% damage. Two hostile subs and SAGs are believed to be in the area. ROEs require positive identifications as hostile to attack. Fort Victoria is escorted by HMS Liverpool, NRP Vasco Da Gama, HNLMS De Ruyter and FGS Brandenburg. 1800 The convoy is ordered to plot a direct course to Wolf 1 and to set speed to full. (Regarding two possible enemy subs operating in the area, flank speed doesn’t seem advisable) 3 neutral contacts registered. Lynx helo is launched to investigate (EMCOM active). Several more surface and airborne contacts are registered. Ten minutes later, a sub contact is registered to the north-east of the SAG’s position. The helo is ordered to investigate. [image]http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/4200/10fz2.png[/image] 1820 - 1900 A torpedo equipped Lynx helo is launched on an ASW mission to investigate the sub contact. The other helo is ordered to identify surface vessels near Wolf 1. Unidentified sub remains elusive. 1917 The first battle of the night is about to start. F23 Brahmaputra east of Wolf 1 is identified as hostile by helo. 4 Harpoons are launched. Three minutes later, a new sub contact is registered ten nm northwest of first sub contact. Another Lynx helo is launched to investigate the contact. Two hits are registered on Brahmaputra, status of vessel is unknown. Nearby Lynx confirms Brahmaputra on fire and sinking. While the two subs remain a threat, no other hostile vessels are registered. 1940 Helo finally locates southern sub and fires two torpedos. Torpedo impact is registered two minutes later and contact to sub is lost. The lynx is ordered to assist in ASW operation against second sub. 2030 This is where suddenly the fit hits the shan... In a matter of two minutes, two airborne and one surface contact are identified as hostile and the second enemy sub is finally located. 4 Harpoon missiles are launched to take out the surface contact, F 20 Godavari. Another 4 missiles are launched upon the hostile helo. As the missiles close in on their targets, two vampires are registered incoming from the direction of the enemy helo. The convoy is ordered to change course to North – northwest and increases speed to flank. Missiles are launched to intercept incoming vampires. Minutes later, the enemy helo is hit and destroyed, while the vampires manage to evade the first batch of intercept missiles. Meanwhile, the sub is located and two torpedos are launched by helo. The Godavari launches four SSNs at the convoy while the four Harpoon missiles close in on their target. 2040 The helo’s incoming missiles are succesfully intercepted about 10 nm away from the convoy. Of the four incoming SSNs, three are neutralized at safe distance, the remaining missile is intercepted a minute later. Checking the armament of the Godavari, it seems that she spent all her SSNs and won’t be posing much of a direct threat to the convoy anymore. To add to the confusion, another hostile airborne contact is registered to the north and immediately orders are given to attack it. Meanwhile, a detonation is registered and the enemy sub is confirmed as destroyed. The helo launches two missiles upon the convoy only moments before it is taken out. The incoming missiles manage to evade several volleys of countermeasures but eventually are intercepted before reaching the convoy. The battle seems to be over as suddenly as it has started. A helo, sent to investigate the status of Godavari, reports it being on fire. Three more Harpoons are launched to finish off the vessel. 2100 With no more threats visible, the convoy resumes it’s course on Wolf 1, increases it’s speed to flank and reaches it’s destination around 2200. With helos patrolling the area, the convoy holds it’s position, until thirty minutes later the victory conditions are met. Evaluation Victory conditions are met, although the commanding officer faces an investigation as NRP Vasco Da Gama apparently launched a missile upon an unidentified vessel, Suda Bay, violating the rules of engagement. FOST forces took zero losses.
