I'm playing a fictional League starting in 1948 and a couple of teams made a trade on Aug 1, I went to the association menu and saw that the trading deadline for my league was 7 Aug. Thinking that the trade deadline might have been different back then I did some research. Before 1921 there was no trading deadline. In 1921 it was changed to 1 Aug. From 1922 until 1985 it was 15 June. In 1986 it changed to 31 July.
I'm thinking that the reason my trading deadline went to 7 Aug is that I'm playing a 154 game season, 8 games shorter than a 162 game season, which somehow added 8 days to the trading deadline.
I also noticed that the All Star issue came out on June 26 and the 5 day all star break didn't come until 3 July.

Interesting.  I know that in my 1966 league with historical schedule, the AS break didn't come unti mid-July.

I'm not using a historical schedule I'm using the Puresim generated schedule where the All-Star selections are usually made after 81 games in a 162 game schedule and the break comes right away.  In my 154 game schedule the selections were made after the 77th game, half the schedule, and the all star break was after the 81st game.
