accuracy13 -> Unit (Database) Editor? (8/13/2006 6:47:15 PM)

I have been playing around with the scenerio editor in ANW, generally just seeing how it works. I would like to try the database editor but can not seem to find it. I have a wonderful pdf manual for it. I was going to try adding the Chakri Nareubet, Thailands V/STOL carrier to the database. While it rarely goes to sea I don't see it sitting at dock in a time of war. Thanks.

You can try and get the DB editor written by Jon Reimer here: H3RE ReimerEditor

It is based on Microsoft Access. Always good to see new folks interested in database creation. We're always looking for folks to get involved with the PlayersDB if you are interested.

I wouldn't mind helping at all.  Let me get some experience under my belt with the editor.  That way if I screw something up it is just me.

The Chakri Nareubet is already available in three of the community Dbs if you're interested in using it.

Before getting involved with any database projects, it might be worth checking which projects are legitimate and which ones are bursting with plagarized work and stolen content... [;)]

I've been away for sometime and I'm not sure what your gripe (complaint) is about?

I have a point right now though. "Imitation is the highest form of flattery." Take anyone copying your DB with a level of pride rather than recriminations.

I already live in a real world full of hate and more than enough examples of man's inhumanity to man. I don't want to live in a cyber world of Harpoon full of the same things thanks mate. Let's learn to work together gentleman and then with a "united front" we may be able to convince the "powers that be" to fix some of the "issues" with the game.

Look I warned everyone about making comments against fellow gamers here. The community for Harpoon and Matrix do not need to read about your on going feud with some other members of the community. If you have an issue with anyone here take it somewhere else. I will not allow this to go on here. Your childish name calling is doing nothing but turning off new Harpoon gamers. Emsoy I am banning you until September 1 for not taking my warning the first time. I warned everyone here not to post any such comments here. I even let the first few comments go by without taking any action. But it would seem that you did not listen to my warning.

Hey everyone, I did not mean to cause a controversy.  I use HarpoonHQ also.  All I wanted to do was add a ship to ANW so I could make up a scenerio using it.

Hello Accuracy

There was nothing wrong with your post or with HarpoonHQ. What is wrong is some gamers thinking I am going to allow there private, childish name calling to go on. There are a lot of new Harppon gamers joining here every day and I am not going to allow anyone to turn off these new players with the consent fighting. The Harpoon commnity needs a break after years of this fighting on every Harpoon forum you can fine.

As if it wasn't pointed out to you in flurry of PM's right[;)] 

Harpoon community has always been noisy and combative but its also helped deliver the game(s) you're selling today. So they might be just as important as the new guys particularly in terms of help sell the game. IIRC these other sites are producing content and dealing with the multiplayer servers. So do what you gotta do to keep your house in order but at least recognize that while noisy and annoying sometimes they're probably helping too. I don't think one banning is indicative of every "old" community member out there and frankly they are your "new" customers. I've bought 2 or 3 this year I think. So take it easy on us will ya.

Hi Mikmyk

I have no issues with anyone talking about the game as far as its good points and/or bad points. I have major issues with people just repeating the same name calling and posting unhelpful post even when asked not to. No one is debating the importance of the old community the problem I am clamping down on is a straight forword one. Matrix will not have any of this personal fighting on its forum. This forum is not a personal battleground but for gamers who want to discuss about the Harpoon series. There is more then one Harpoon forum that has been destroyed with this non-stop fighting and name calling.

Please do not take this as anything against the old community. I asked more then once for these posts to stop and I even ignored the last few after giving a strong warning. He broke the rules and ignored my repeated requested to please stop. I understand that sometimes people lose control and that is why we give out temp bannings when needed to force a cooling off period. Once his time out is completed he is more them welcomed back if he can obey the rules.

Again everyone is welcome here and to enjoy the site.
