sposfan -> appearances for relievers... (8/20/2006 8:57:59 PM)

Is anyone else getting abnormally high appearances for relievers? I just had a new record set of 121, breaking the old one of 116. Playing 1987 (started in 82, no expansion 60 man rosters, real players), default engine, no tweaks, default manager profiles. My top 10 are all over 100games.

Set yer reliever recovery rate down to 62 and give that a whirl, homey.

I'll give that a shot, thanks for the tip, but if that's where the problem lies, perhaps it should be changed in the official XML for those who don't visit the forums  and so it'll play "properly" out of the box.

official xml rarely gets changed.  normally have to do it yourself.

I'm going to post mine up once I get some salary issues worked out.

One of my questions about puresim though is why this XML doesn't get changed more often by Shaun?  It seems Sitting Duck and others have done a ton of tinkering and got things to be more realistic.

I know it doesn't get changed too often, been playing it since pretty much day 1 [:)] , but with the game now reaching more people, perhaps it's time to tighten up the official XML so it plays better out of the box. I have no problems messing with the XML, but many new gamers want to install the game and jump right in and it's pretty confusing and daunting to edit the XML or even to read through it the first time.

I know people expect the game to perform differently and obviously it's pretty impossible to come up with the perfect xml, but still....

Also, one other problem is that everytime you install a patch it writes over the xml and if you don't have it saved, then you're stuck re-doing it, or like me forgetting to re-do it. [8|]
