Wineguy -> CHS plane switch (8/20/2006 11:37:27 PM)

I am playing CHS scenario 157 and am island hopping one of my bomber groups to Australia in mid december. On the last turn all but one plane from the 22nd bombardment group (flying B-17E Fortress) made it to Australia, remaining plane still in central pacific. When I got back the new turn from my opponent I found that the group in Australia had switched to B-25C Mitchell (full compliment all needing repair) and when my remaing Fortress flew in it did not combine with the parent group.

I'm assuming I'm SOL in getting my fortresses back but I do have a couple of questions:
Is this a CHS bug?
Is there anyway to reunite the straggler with the parent?

Thanks, Steve.

It's not a bug if you had the upgrade toggle set to B-25C. After all the island hopping, the squadron arrived for the first time in a base with more than 20.000 supply, finally enableing it to upgrade its AC.

You should be able to upgrade the fragment to Mitchells, too. You can only combine squadrons using the same plane. Alternatively, you could replace the Mitchells by B-17s again, as their planes went to the pool and are now available.

Thanks VSWG, I think you nailed it[&o], another lesson learned for me.
